I have a few favourite routes, the R70 as its my local route and TF have recently become like PD allocations and also the 267 as it my 'local' link to central-ish London. However I generally hate the 40, 42 and 43 As for bus types... Well I'm torn between the new Enviro400s (the WTA ones) and Gemini 2, but in this weather I have to give an edge to the Gemini 2s due to the cooler! TFs allocation is no where near PDs. PD are on the same level as Merton. You get the odd type now and again, but PD practice it daily on certain Routes. Allocations today however are pretty solid, only MPD 8110 on R70 and 8572 on 235.

I'm just glad they don't like putting the Scanias on the 122! All the better for me Still no one can beat DT and their allocations, everything everywhere......

Favorite Routes:
U3 - My local route. Have witnessed some interesting times with it, with its introduction, of all The U Line routes created, it broke the most uncharted territory, giving places like the Wise Lane Estate, Appletree Avenue, Cowley peachy and Cleveland rd a bus service for the first time. I had to put up with (in my opinion) the woeful service that Capital Logistics & TGM gave it (Deppy42 could most probably tell a tale or 2 regarding their Optare Excels) And I've seen the increase in usage, so much so, it now has almost daily appearances of double deckers. I'm quite chuffed to of seen the route grow from using tiny MA's to Excels to DML's/DMC's and TN's.
H91 - 10 years ago you could ride anything that HH or V could throw out onto it, including CD's, DP's, DPS's, DR's, DRL's, L's, LLW's (which were officially allocated), M's, VA's (Olympians) and probably more. It was defo interesting waiting at Hammersmith, not knowing which type of vehicle would turn up. You also got a good run along the Chiswick High Rd and the vehicles got to stretch their legs along the Gt West Road
207 - Well I used to like the Uxbridge section when it was still M operated, less busier along this stretch and I used to love traveling on an M along this section at speed.
Favorite Vehicles:
(From Yesteryear)
MCW Metrobus mk1 - Like everything about it! Looks, sounds, smell(!) You just cant beat that musical combination of the Gardner/Voith with a screaming retarder. Leyland National mk1 - My memories of them in London service are fading fast but to me, It's a stylish looking bus that sounded great. Mercedes Benz 811D Alexander - Loved their engine sound and the wine from the Allison box when going through the gears, thought they were nippy and the Alexander body was stylish.
(Modern, not in London service)
Dennis Trident (Euro_2) - Firsts TNL32888-32930 batch with 32926 being my favorite Dennis Dart Marshall Capital (Euro_2) - IMO, Stylish and made a nice noise going through the gears when being thrashed. Dennis Lance Wright Pathfinder - The first Low Floor buses to work in London and although universally hated by engineers someone has to like them!
(Modern, in London service)
Dennis Trident ALX400 - Abellio's 9763-9772 batch with 9771 being my favorite, to me, each vehicle seems to of developed its own characteristics and each one sounds different. Also the ALX400 body still looks modern and stylish to me. Scania OmniCity - London United's SP1-15 batch MAN 12.240 MCV Evolution - especially the ZF boxed examples, fast and the sound of them reminds me slightly of the LLW classed Dennis Lance

Too many of each to mention, however I will say I have always liked the SB200 (I know its not a london bus) but it is growing on me even more

Somehow, I miss the LLWs on the H91, as I really liked them, weirdly. The only low-floor bus that I like which is older than me!

The rounded windows on the sides & the rear window make the bus look slightly better than a 200 too. Other non London buses I like are Euro II Scania N113DRB's - awesome machines particularly the ex Brighton & Hove ones. They're also are mainly on Voith - I'd suggest anyone who says they dislike Scania's to try these first!

Of old, the metrobus. Fulwell was my local garage, so my favourite route is the 281 , then the 33 , then the 65 . Loved the 57 when it was metrobus operated from Fulwell with London United and then Westlink. My favourite bus was M999. Great number and a real good engine on that bus. I know the drivers liked M189 for some reason. And M199 was always breaking down and M29 was known as the "donkey bus"
I also liked PB routes for their odd garage journeys on the W8 , and the quite bizarre feeling if being on a single door scania from Potters Bar leaving Kingston on the N92.

Yeah , when the N92 replaced the N93 , it was extended from fulwell to Kingston. It basically ran in sections, North finchley to T.Sq or Victoria , then Victoria or T sq to Kingston , then back from Kingston to North finchley

It used to be when the V reg Darts ran it lol. I preferred the 03-reg Darts when they appeared on there but otherwise I agree. An appearance of a Caetano on there is always welcome too, I like Euro 3 Darts. Agree, I did enjoy some nice Euro III Dart thrash on the route in the past. Under Metrobus, I'd alternate between using the 64 & T33 but since the T33 got Enviro 200's, I just use the 64 - how often do Euro III Caetanos & Pointers appear on the route?

Quite a few routes I favour, due to areas they cover etc, notable routes I think the 20 is one of the nicest routes in TFL, others I like are 27, 36, 68 and 468. Favourite bus type well name speaks for its self, WVLs are best B7tl variety preferred. wvl 212 to 273 are my favourites but I also like the VWLs ex East Thames , Go aheads PVLs but also like Arrivas VLWs and DWs .

WVL212 to 273 are my least favourite of the B7TL WVL's as they are dull to me except for WVL244 where the kickdown makes it far more interesting. I love WVL1-211 though if that's any consolation
