What are People's thoughts? I think the 246 to Chartwell is a nice country route past Westerham.

Certainly the 412 for dales and scenery. The 464 also has its moment.
The P5 remains my route of choice for urban decay and the 387/EL2 for brownfield/wastelands at their eastern ends.
The 603 almost exclusively passes through ostentatious areas and the H3 is good for gawping at the custom mansions on the Billionaire's Row.

The 142 & 258 passes some nice areas around Bushey, the 107 through Elstree & Stirling Corner, the 292 along Barnet Way, the 405 south of Hooley, the 498 beyond Gallows Corner, the 81 from Colnbrook to the edge of Slough, the 166 from Chipstead Valley to Epsom, the R5/R10 beyond Green St Green, I could go on lol.

Route 692 and 699 between Potters Bar and Cockfosters. Route 313 is quite nice too, especially if you can catch an elusive V reg DLA on it!

The 251 along Totteridge Wood Lane seeing all the modern, posh houses and farms.
Maybe I would class this as scenic, The 350 through Stockley Park Business Estate riding past business offices and going through security gates and then leaving towards Heathrow T5 while seeing the Airport view from Harmondsworth.
Also the 370 along Corbets Tey running past the farms and grasslands while seeing the view of the M25 from one of 370's VLAs.

I am a big fan of route 466. I love how its starts from rural parts of New Addington then to town centre of Croydon then back out to the rural ends of Catherham.

Just out of my childhood, I used to love the scenery on the 105 when it went along the A4 towards Heathrow....watching the planes land and take off. Also loved the old route 82 when it used to go to Heathrow with the Mark one Leyland Nationals. Both routes were the first time being in a Metrobus and Leyland National at high speeds, to me then bringing out a new dimension in those buses.
Sometimes after college, usually on a Friday as we used to finish by 1pm, I would make a trip to Heathrow just for the sake of it.

The 465 must be a candidate; the stretch from Chessington to Leatherhead is becoming rural, but from there to Dorking there are splendid views of the North Downs, including Box Hill (to say nothing of a break of journey to visit the Dorking vineyard!)

196 & 468 on Knights Hill - you get a good view of Central London from the top of the hill. Another good view, this time of everything beyond Norwood Junction, on South Norwood Hill
196, 249 & 468 on Beulah Hill - lovely view of Croydon from the upper deck as you pass Priory Close
