In my time four of the busiest 'nightmare' stops were Hammersmith bus station on the 295, Clapham Junction on the 37, Tooting Broadway on the 133 (now 333) and Trafalgar Square on the N77 (now N87).
In the early mornings the weekday Aldwych bound N44 at Tooting Broadway is another busy load up.

Barking Station, 5, 62, 387 towards Romford and Little Heath. Always a stampede for the 5, surrounded by beggars, alcoholics and people asking if you've got some "spare change/ spare cigarette" etc +1

Which ones? In the morning peak, buses, particularly the route 159, fly past the Brixton Hill bus stops as they've already picked up tons of passengers between Streatham Station and Streatham Hill, Christchurch Road. So from what I've seen, the Brixton Hill stops shouldn't be nominated, as the actual passenger numbers using the stops there are fairly average. A stop I'd nominate is Clapham South Station (southbound-route 249). Buses arrive usually empty from Clapham Common, but quickly fill up, especially around the time SFX students leave college; often leaving people behind at the stop. Around the Blenheim Gardens when I go there I always see buses packed and loads of passengers left ther

Any nominations from group members for the "bus stop from hell" by which I mean a bus stop that is regularly very busy and overloaded with passengers unable to get on the buses that arrive. I'm aware that there are stops on the 343 in North Peckham that qualify and Brixton Station probably does but anywhere else? Definitely Brixton, Streatham Hill Station can be manic in AM peak with lots of people with Gold Cards nipping over to Brixton for the tube. Very early AM at both northbound Elephant & Castle stops from where it is almost impossible to leave without a full and standing bus - at 5am. Moz

Canada Water Bus Station: During rush hour, the bus station can be really overcrowded with lots of people coming out from the Underground station or waiting for the C10 to get to Hilton Hotel.
Elephant & Castle, New Kent Road (Both Bus stops for 1, 53, 63, 168, 172, 188, 363, 453, N1, N63 towards Old Kent Road, Peckham or Bermondsey): Those two bus stops can be fairly full aswell especially the bus stop for 53, 63 etc. Sometimes, some people don't even end up entering their bus and have to wait for the next one.

The Mitcham Fair Green bus stop towards Sutton/Wallington/Colliers Wood (280/127/152 respectively) is very busy for those routes yet the bay's barely big enough to properly hold two buses, the second bus usually sticking out into the road if the first one isn't properly within the bay.
I personally think the bus stop should be sited further back (North) along the Holborn Way as the bus stop is practically on the corner of the junction.

At Ilford...
Ilford Broadway (25, 86, 147 and W19) - Always struggling to get of the 86 there especially when there is a massive crowd there waiting to get on
Chapel Road (169, EL1, EL2 and buses Terminating at Ilford) - Massive Stampede to get onto whatever bus comes First to get to Barking. It also doesn't help when lots of 25s end up coming as well
At Barking...
Barking Station (62, 287, 368, 387, EL1, EL2) - A lot of People are waiting to get onto all the buses here as well as get off. The Fact that the Shelter is too small and the Countdown Machine has been Vandalised does not help at all.
Barking Station (5, 62, 368, 387, N15) - Massive crowds for all the Routes that Stop Here especially the 5.
At Stratford...
Stratford Bus Station (25 and 86) - Huge Crowds for buses towards Ilford and Romford Especially the 86 as it Continues to Romford. Every so Often People do end up getting on the Back Doors due to the crowds
Stratford Bus Station (69, 104, 473, 262, 238 and 276) - Huge Crowds Especially when buses turn up following Each other.
