Nice to hear that the rattling is meant to be substantially reduced. Noticed that this Abellio example only has one CCTV camera in the cab. A second one would be ideal where it can be fixed on the upper deck like with Go Ahead's first generation WVLs, I assume the same on the B9TLs. All in all the vehicle seem to look promising, especially where there has been input from engineering teams throughout many firms. Would be interesting to know if bus drivers were surveyed in any way in relation to the design. Will be great if someone eventually gives a review on the bus once it's out serving the general public. ....ahem!! Steve80

Would be interesting to know if bus drivers were surveyed in any way in relation to the design. I noticed that one of the people interviewed was a member of First Group's national ergonomic committee - I'd guess he was a union chap who would bring in driver input. I'd also hope that the bus companies and their engineers do have mechanisms to gather feedback from drivers or their representatives. If not then they're asking for trouble later on.

Interesting video. It will be really interesting to see whether Lothian Buses in particular swap allegiance to ADL after many many years of Volvo / Wright purchases. Clearly many of the customers shown on the video are long standing / regular ADL customers. "I am sure we will buy some" says Mr Stagecoach - well duh! Nice to know I only need a paint scraper, some allen keys and a crosshead screwdriver to be able to dismantle the bus and take the windows out. Lothian did order a batch of 11.4m Euro V Enviro 400H's a few years ago but it was meant to be a one off as Volvo promised to develop a longer length B5LH (roughly around the 11m mark). If it doesn't happen, then Lothian may indeed switch to ADL.

Just watched the MMC E400 Launch and it seems that ADL had done a lot of work to make this bus so faultless. I can't wait for these to enter service.

Special feature on ADL from Bus and Coach.com which has info on the new E400 plus some info on the "Virtual Electric" Enviro 350 single decker. The stuff on the new double decker is similar to the You Tube video.

Just watched this and I'm extremely impressed - the tide could be turning to ADL's favour if the Enviro 400 MMC is as good as it says and I'd say they're unlikely to be wrong.

From the busandcoach.com ADL special:
"The first of the new Enviro400s to be delivered are likely to be for Oxford Brookes University (lucky b*ds) and Reading Buses."

Indeed they do and I think it ended there long association with Scania & East Lancs/Optare.

They say this new bus will rattle less.... I have an easy solution to that problem.... Just build them like they used to!!!!
I'm currently driving a 12.5 year old London Central LDP (Plaxton Pointer/Dennis Dart) and it rattles infinitely less than my usual 1 year old E200.... It just feels so solid!!
