There is an article on the metrodecker in busandcoach articleLooks like there wont be a hybrid version, they don't see a market for this, preferring to use the weight saved by not including a diesel for an all electric version (which will be about 10.5 tonnes). Interestingly it says that battery charging is currently limited by the power supply to garages, can already charge at 0.2MW, and could increase to nearer 1MW (but currently, supply limits it to 0.05MW (50KW) charging). Looks like new substations will be required for all electric routes. One other thing I wasn't aware of (and I think it applies to Gemini3 as well) is the 99 person limit is a TfL decided maximum, not a manufacturer choice. Not sure why TfL has set this max, but I guess it means all those on the forum who were hoping for tri-axles on a few routes are going to be disappointed if 99 passengers max is policy.

According to this weeks RouteOne the single door and TFL spec dual door MetroDeckers will be made available as demonstrators from next month. Starting looking out for the TFL one around London!

Looks decent enough. The long low floor area on the lower deck is impressive and it looks nice and light and airy inside. The rear offside photo of it reminds me of something else given the minimal engine intrusion - not unlike a Dennis Falcon or a Volvo Citybus but without the high floor.

I got the same feeling as well regarding the rear offside - looks very Volvo Citybus like - seems it has a similar number of capacity as well compared to the former VC batch at London General.

Just hope Metroline buy the Metrodecker tor the 114 or 483 but who knows. Probably new face B5LH's or MMCs Unless they buy a small batch of Metrodeckers for the E8 (I think the PVR will still be low despite the Hounslow extension), but I think they are getting the hybrids that were on the 168
