Which double deck is the best for Hills? Which double deck is the best for dual carriageways/motorways? What do you mean by "best"? Most comfortable, fastest, slowest, safest, least stressful to drive, most economical, carries the most people ?? Defining the criteria might help those answering.

Abellio's 8041 (V301MDP) - most oldest , followed by the most deceptive 8466 - GM03TGM, actually a much older Euro2 dart hiding in a Euro3 Caetano body Best double deck for dual carriageways I think is the DB250 - the ones on the 34 are quick... For hills, the Voith Darts at KC on the 214

Like Louis Suarez' most recent biting incident, this thread could be looked at from all different angles, and still not come to the right conclusion To summarize, the best bus is the one most suitable for the route involved - for instance, you wouldn't go and put a single deck on the 267.... I take that back... I guess they learnt back in the day this wasn't ideal Generally it all depends on the route and the tasks involved, unless anyone else can provide an inexhaustive list...

In my view:
what single deckers is the fastest on dual carriageways/motorways? Enviro200H, well they're fast than the diesels on the 371
What double deckers is the best at climbing Hills? OmniCity DD
What double deckers is the fastest on dual carriageways/motorways? Unrestricted E400 Euro V or Euro III Trident
In terms of an 'all rounder', I'd say that the Enviro400 is probably the best double decker. Not a big fan of single decks, and indeed most are the same, with the exception of Optare Versas, Tempos, Citaros (although they're very expensive) and the small handful of hybrid/electric/hydrogen buses out there. If I had to push for an answer though I'd say either Citaro/Tempo (but not with Ciclos) for a full-size bus and Versa for a midi.

Hmmm....imo I think the quickest single decks are the MAN MCV evolutions, these beasts accelerate real quick!. The quickest double decks I would say are all generations of the E40 hybrids . The Scania Omnicity and Optare Olympus are pretty quick too (they'll sadly be missed ). For climbing hills the Dennis Trident and 1st Gen Enviro 400 for double decks, 12m Citaro and 12m Omnicity for single decks.

Has everyone forgotten the Euro 6 Hybrid e400s! I haven't!, that's why I said all generations of the E40 Hybrids including the Euro 6 ones. Despite their loudness sometimes when the engine fans kick in, I like them alot too! .
