182 is having surveys done today as spotted 2 blokes in TfL hi-vis on one that's passed me today The R5/R10 and R7 had the surveyors on today. The chap who was on with me on the 5/10s told me he’d done the 182 yesterday so it was a pretty big change to be doing the 5/10s today!

Bus surveys are on the 322 today The (one) surveyor seems to have given up on SE242 as its a little packed to the rafters

And again on the 57,thay can't seem to get enough of the 57 A very useful route in its current form and way better used now than for most of its history: mind you, it used to be about the most infrequent route in the Streatham area, amongst the 3 to 5 minute headway routes (the 109 every 2 for a while). I expect there are plans to cut it at the Streatham end, perhaps encouraged by comments on this forum by one or two people who should know better.

I strongly agree and would not want to see the link cut as I use it semi regularly and there are sonetimes good loadings at Clapham Park

And again on the 57,thay can't seem to get enough of the 57 To get a reasonably representative dataset they are going to survey routes multiple times. Seeing surveyors a few weeks apart doesn't suggest extra attention being paid to a given route. Without being clear about the survey contents it could be anything - it could be a passenger satisfaction survey, it could be a ticketing survey or it could be route specific as part of developing an understanding of journey patterns / regularity to supplement what data Oyster gives. It is probably way too early in GAL's contract term for TfL to be specifically reviewing route 57 as part of the retendering process. The other thing in the 57's favour is that there are not that many alternative stand locations north of Tooting Broadway where it could be turned without causing real difficulty for people. St Leonard's Church is not exactly stupendous for safe pedestrian crossing / ease of interchange. I imagine there is also a decent carry over of passengers across St Leonard's Church meaning too many people would be disadvantaged from enforced interchange if the route were curtailed.

I get what you mean but when they happen on other routes,I've only seen tham happen once

I wouldn't be surprised to see the 57 removed from Streatham and that section left to the 333.

Is the old Tooting Mitre stand still available? Last time I passesd it a few weeks ago,yep However, there may be a 'nimby' issue - I think it may have been agreed only to be available for sd, and not on a regular basis. (Illegally) parked cars are also an issue.

(Illegally) parked cars are also an issue. Even then, that stand would unlikely be able to hold the 57. Absolutely crazy idea given the 333 regularly has heavy loadings along with the 57 on that section as well.
