Funny, I was only wondering the other day whatever happened to Mr Rudolph?... I think the Sunray Avenue thing is a red herring. I thought it had previously been established that the problem was with trees on Red Post Hill. My memory may be at fault but it wasn't that they needed cutting back but they were growing at a slight angle, leading to a perceived risk of a double decker hitting one. The answer was to build out the kerb at those points but there were problems over cost, doing the work, loss of parking etc. I know this is VERY off topic but what ever did happen to Mr Rudolph and his London Enthusiast group? is suddenly shut down over night a few years back! Well might you ask, it closed down as a result of a dirty tricks campaign that was carried out by a very disreputable person and I think many of you will know exactly who I am talking about?

I think Go-Ahead have too many old SDs. Look at Stagecoach. They only have one model of an old SD, and they don't even have many of them (I think).

Abellio have older ones still in use. 51 Plate Pointer darts are only a year older than the Selkent Darts, 34353 is currently the oldest dart and at TL. Plus East London/Selkent lost 181, 202, 276, 284, 300, 325, 376 and retained 62, 124, 227, 296, 314, 366, 396, D3 with new single deckers, so of course most of the older single deckers will have been withdrawn. The ELS on the 42 are roughly the same age as the 52 darts at TL. Only 12 years old....

Anything before the 'new' generation of buses like the Enviro range, the Streetlite, Gemini 2, Olympus etc. So for example, I would consider 06-plate Tridents older than 19000. Hope you understand what I mean.

For example, I know Go-Ahead have 06-07 plate EDs but I would consider them older than 07-reg E200s even though they're the same age. Or I'd consider 06-plate Tridents older than 19000.

I find your idea confusing.
06 Plate Tridents are not older than 19000....
07 Plate EDs are roughly the same ages as 07 Plate Enviro 200s..
Plus the batch on the 47 are 8 years old, hardly old at all. You mention "new generation" well quite frankly a lot of older generation fleet are in better condition than newer ones.... 17001 I got on it yesterday as the 158 and I must say it is in better condition than some of the newer buses I've travelled on...
In addition why not just state older models..... because to class a batch of vehicles newer when they are actually older than another batch is bad classification when they are not...
Example. Metroline 55 Plate Enviro 400s are Not newer than the 06 Plate Tridents at Selkent...

And from my experience I find older models are usually in worse condition than newer models. The 61 plate E400Hs and 09 plate Scanias at BW are/were* in much better condition than the Tridents. I find the buses on the 108 terrible and the Marshall Capitals for the 339... Let's not go there. The E200 is much better than any of those buses. *I say 'were' not because they're no longer better but because most of the Tridents have left.

Hope you understand what I mean. But that doesn't really make sense. Because 19000 would be older than a 06 plate Trident. Even if it's just a few months. I still get what you mean though.

Hope you understand what I mean. Fair enough. Personally, I'd class anything after 1999 as 'not old' because I tend to go along the lines that 15 years isn't too old.
