Not a fan of the 533 change, people on the 72 will have to get off and go upstairs to change for a 533 if there's one near whereas before they could use the same stop. As the 533 basically replaces part of the 72 having those two routes serve the same stop worked well. At least people will have a warm, under cover place to wait given the frequency it runs at!

The 218 will get hammered, but it will be interesting to see how well the 306 is used. Breaking up North - South links makes no sense given that Crossrail runs east to west and hasn’t even opened yet. The 391 is getting a massive frequency cut. Loadings can be low at times, but I’m not a regular user or observer. Does 20 minutes during the day Mon-Sat and 30 mins evenings and Sundays sound enough? Sounds like a recipe for Uber to me. It’s good that all the Harrow changes are happening in one wave

Seasonal change: 246 Extra buses tonight: N277 I thought the W11 was permanently deffered. Especially since the 158 was been bolstered. I feel sorry for the W15, especially in the morning and evening peaks. It would be heaving and leaving people behind. In the morning, the first southbound stop on Palmerston Rd normally loads to full, at times, buses has to skip this stop, the second stop at times is a sail past. Going back to Higham Hill it would take a true peppering from taking people from the middle of the market and people going home in the evening from WSTC wanting to use the quicker way back to the Higham Hill area.

Wow I’m surprised the 52 cut is that small, only to 8-9 minutes. Considering it’s a monster PVR cut from 24 to 18 I was expecting the frequency to be a lot less Can only be done by reducing running time, stand time, or both. Any ideas? The PVR reduction is more or less in line with the frequency reduction. It's going from 9bph to 7bph, which would mean the PVR drops to 18 or 19 (on the basis that 7/9 * 24 = 18.67). So there might be a small reduction in running and/or stand time, but nothing too drastic.

At least people will have a warm, under cover place to wait given the frequency it runs at! Yeah someone else mentioned that on another site I'm part of. I think the 72 should now serve the Upper Bus Station in both directions as well. Route 533 will still start at the low level bus station but will also now call at the upper level bus station, which gives a common stop for buses on routes 190 and 533 towards Chiswick Bridge. This is a much overdue improvement, gives an improved frequency towards Chiswick Bridge and allows route 533 passengers to wait inside in the warm. I don't see the need for southbound buses on route 72 to serve the upper level bus station as well as the low level bus station, they never did before and usage is very low on the section between Hammersmith and Hammersmith Bridge.

Ok that makes sense now and agree it's good but I swear yesterday it said the bus will finnisb in the lower bus station and first stop will the upper bus station. It's great how the 72 and 533 serve the same stop as it gives people to option if they want to take the 72 to bridge or wait for the 533. Disagree all you like.

Both routes serve the low level bus station where there are screens showing all the next departures, so passengers can make an easy choice between the 72 and the 533. The 533 seems to have a loyal following that turn up ten minutes before the half hourly departures.

I agree there's no need for the 72 to serve both stations.

I agree there's no need for the 72 to serve both stations. But perhaps as winter weather worsens, and fewer people cross Hammersmith Bridge on foot or on a bicycle, more will be tempted by the 533. This could lead to the 533 being full before it even arrives at the Upper Bus Station, so we may have a White City situation where the travel savvy go to the first stop.
