Just visited Becontree Heath today, turns out they have pretty much ended the colour coded bus routes (128, 150). Most of the buses on the 150 have been refurbished and repainted, and the 128 has changed operators. Last of the branded buses are the 167 and 462s E200s, which will carry the branding until repainted

There are a million ways to attract people other than that sort of branding. At least a few other perks (WiFi, usb charging points etc) and more importantly, buses on time and at reasonable frequency!

At least a few other perks (WiFi, usb charging points etc) and more importantly, buses on time and at reasonable frequency! Branding is another part of attracting custom just like adverts attract people to buy products. The Barkingside branding was mainly fine for a trial - if it was to have been rolled out further (technically it is since the X140 is getting branding), I'd of expected them to refine it & drop the poor aspects such as the maps they provided for example. The Hayes scheme was the awful one - branding 25% of buses made little sense and the design chosen didn't look great personally especially with contravision involved.

27 February 2020- agenda and papers document has been published today and following new upcoming consultations are:
- Changes to routes E1 and H28- will be very interesting to see what changes TFL propose to these routes, I can see the E1 extending to Osterley and the H28 being cut back
- Routes 161 and 386- rerouting in Woolwich town centre- don't know when TFL will release this consultation
- A41 Finchley Road (Hendon Way to College Crescent) bus priority scheme
- Goresbrook Road- Bus priority scheme and reroute of route 287

The alternative is that the 287 gets withdrawn when the EL4 gets introduced and the EL4 will instead be a Barking Riverside to Rainham route, and people will be told to get a 62 or 368 from Lodge Avenue into Barking.

Hopefully the E1 will provide assistance to the 65. Plenty of buses spare buses from the C3 to use.

Also to add, TFL have identified schemes for the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (which we know is the 324 extension to Elstree, providing links to the hospital) and will be consulted on this year.
They have also identified a scheme for the Finchley Memorial Hospital. I can see the 383 extending to the hospital as I've suggested that the 383 should extend.

I think this will be a welcome addition on South Ealing Road to assist the 65 and spread the loads out more evenly, as well as creating a useful north-south link across Ealing Broadway. However, there is the issue of the E1's reliability worsening, which in turn will lead to far worse overcrowding than there already is leaving Ealing Broadway during the peaks - its not unheard of for buses to leave people behind.
