To confirm that works at St James Street was to increase stand space from 4 to 5, ready for 34 to stand from Saturday. They probably could have done more and increase to 6. If memory serves me, it had 6 capacity when it first opened. The line repainting was scheduled for last night to be done at Courtney Mews to increase stand space.

Or indeed if anything is delayed anywhere. Getting out of Bromley on time isn't a given. Schools are largely out of the equation but there will be some school traffic for the first week. And Christmas shopping traffic at any time. The 464 isn't immune from delays either.
It only takes one bus to meet one vehicle of any sort in the narrows and the timetable can go out of the window. Not every car driver would willingly reverse (even though it is them who should do so) along Ricketts Hill or Ship Hill for example.

Absolutely - I’ve been doing an evening shift this week and the traffic in and around Bromley has been ridiculous. I’ve been getting to Biggin Hill 15-20 minutes late and leaving Westerham at about the same given our dire lack of recovery time. If this is repeated from next Saturday the service is going to fall over completely and the excess amount of traffic on the diversion means meeting in the very narrow sections is almost certain. I’m very thankful I only have to put up with it for five days!

Both have contributed but the schedule doesn’t help either - it just isn’t robust enough to cope with the amount of traffic we’re dealing with or the amount of people we’re carrying. I stopped at every stop yesterday between Biggin Hill Airport and the Aperfield Inn and despite there being no traffic in between and getting lucky with the traffic lights I lost over 4 minutes simply because the schedule doesn’t allow for that. The ideal solution would be another bus but that’s not going to happen so we’re left with the unsatisfying situation we’re having to put up with now

Looks like the only additional night service running (not an enhanced frequency or additional journeys) is the 407.

Looks like the only additional night service running (not an enhanced frequency or additional journeys) is the 407. Yes quite different this year with a handful of later journeys/freq increases as opposed to an all night service on the 154/163/164/358/412 etc. Maybe it's been found people are either out all night (and can get the first bus of the day home) or they done by 1pm and head home.
