Following the end of the diversion at Westerham Hill route 246 returns to normal line of route with a brand new timetable in place. Buses will continue to run every 30 minutes during the daytime Monday to Saturdays and every 60 minutes during the evening and all day on Sundays but with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels Thames Water have surprised the hell out of everyone and Westerham Hill actually reopened a couple of days ago. The temporary timetable is, however, still in place and I understand drivers are either leaving Westerham late or waiting time at Biggin Hill. There is, indeed, a new timetable scheduled to come into effect on 6th January with headways widened slightly in the peaks. Hopefully it will improve reliability but I can’t see it solving the problems entirely. We’ve had a new rota to go with it though and they’ve introduced three straight through duties on a Saturday which is nice!

Is the split of the 407 also going ahead on the 2nd March along with the introduction of the 439/S2 and 312/455 changes?

As are numerous others.
Are these new journeys a part of the Heathrow initiative to get more shift workers to use buses by supporting them at such hours? We now have a 459 from the otherwise almost unserved Richings Park area in the middle of the night and several longer-distance services comprising just one or two one-way trips to arrive at Heathrow by 04.00.

Yes, these are primarily for workers getting to and from the airport and associated suppliers located in the airport area.

I'm guessing the journeys will coordinate with N140 between there and Hayes to give a 15 minute headway 🤔 sounds like a good shout regardless

In the Ruislip direction, it departs 20 minutes after a N140. Also, is 0350 and 0420 the only new departures out of Heathrow? As currently the first 278 out of Heathrow is 0515 so does that mean there’s a 55 minute gap in service or there will be a 0450 departure as well?

I agree, it’s odd that there are no return journeys, but during the later morning and day there is the option to take a train between West Drayton and Iver, 3 to connect with Heathrow buses at Uxbridge or Slough, or grab a lift with a colleague who is driving that way. The big problem will be getting to Heathrow for early shifts.

Don't understand these one way journeys..... am I missing something or how are people supposed to get ack from their shift? I wondered that also. In some cases there are daytime alternatives but nothing covers the 459 and no express routes cover some of the others. If Iver didn't happen to be just outside the TfL boundary in Buckinghamshire there might well be a better service than there is. The old 459 was cut from all day to peak hours only in the 1960s but it isn't beyond the bounds of possibility that an Uxbridge - Iver - Richings Park - Langley route might be a viable option. With or without it going on to Slough. Clearly not TfL territory out there (despite the long-serving 81 covering the Bath Road corridor) and I know something like this was tried but didn't last long in recent times. The river bridge at Thorney prevents buses running through that way from West Drayton.
