I guess not being on Twitter is predominantly the reason why this news has reached me a day late, but Daft Punk have ended their 28 years of making music! This is very somber for me, their One More Time music video was the first I'd ever seen. I lived a very sheltered life growing up and that was one of very few videos I was allowed to see by relatives on MTV Music. I must have been around 8 and totally entranced by the whole thing; the story, the music, the aliens. Voyager and Something About Us later followed but I was too gripped by what I saw from the pseudo robotic French pair. They defined my childhood musically and those of my peers. I still remember the summer of 2013 when everyone including the 'tough guys' could not stop indulging in RAM. I remember getting drunkenly lost in Loughborough & playing Doin' It Right on repeat to save battery life and hope to the heavens I wouldn't freeze to death on a field. That memory never escapes me when I listen to it now. To my French friends Daft Punk aren't French [as they've lived in LA for a very long time now] , and I suspect a certain French kitten would say the same... However you view them, they're internationally renowned for making electronic music relatable and human, despite trying hard not to give that illusion away with their robot masks. Their career started the year I was born, so they've defined my life thus far and I for one am grateful! I guess my childhood's officially over

I guess my childhood's officially over Really sad to hear that as one of my first albums I ever got was that very same album with One More Time and co. Some other notable tracks I liked were Short Circuit, Too Long (which really was long) & Superhero but also a mention for the original Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger long before the collaboration with Kanye West.

One song that is an earworm that recently appeared on my Spotify was the Vengaboys "Boom Boom Boom Boom".
That song will always remain on the god tier of club songs, it is up there with Sweet Caroline & Mr Brightside IMO
I wonder what the clubs must've been like in the late 90s (I was still very young then so obviously couldn't experience it!)...I can only imagine extremely live!

Was watching a 372 visual just about 10 minutes and just remembered Sweet Female Attitude - Flowers, honestly that has to be one of the greatest garage tracks out of the 2000s. A few others that come to mind:
Artful Dodger feat Craig David - Rewind Artful Dodger feat Romina Johnson - Movin Too fast

Cannot believe its been 10 years since Whitney Houston's passing today in 2012, honestly what a music icon she was.
It really is sad what happened to her regarding the drugs, drinking & even the erratic relationship she was in I imagine contributed to her death.
She was a true music icon and I imagine for generations to come that'll only continue.
RIP Whitney 1963-2012

Dont miss that crappy group Venga boys for anything, irritating and talent-less Most decent clubs would have not played that drivel in the late 90's

I guess there was some better songs from the late 90s then, Freed from Desire, Believe by Cher, Missing You by Diddy.
Must admit Steps were pretty dreadful

omg, steps, lol. I forgot about them, my goodness As for Venga boys, you either loved them or hated them. They were a one hit wonder with just catchy irritating tunes, designed at nothing more than getting into the top 10

so I decided to make a playlist of songs that mention buses or routes for no other reason apart from the fact I'm a big music fan and I was bored. If you want to check it out or have got any suggestions it's here.
