So it's likely the "....left/ right-hand side" announcement will be confined to the Victoria Line?
The weird thing is that for years, the Victoria Line is the only line with those announcements - even the 67 stock had the same announcements so it does perplex me why it's not rolled out on other lines.
Would love to have heard how it would announce the doors on the Northern line should the train arrive at the middle platforms at Morden (where doors open on both sides).

"Doors will open on both sides"? Lol
Most likely! lol but with the announcements tweeked every now and then they may initially or laterally say, "....left and right hand sides"

I may have been unlucky but I never heard a 67TS with the 'Doors will open on the * hand side' announcement.
The 67 stock never had the door side announcements plus the 09's won't announce door sides at Brixton or Walthamstow Central (possibly Seven sisters as well) as there is a choice of platform and trains can and do get routed into non timetabled platforms to keep the service headways as close to target.

I've been on an Overground train that went direct from Stratford to Highbury & Islington. Most convenient.

I've heard the 96 stocks are getting announcements on what side the doors are to open. Does anyone have more information?
Think it's rolling out now - I'm on a train with the door announcements.

Was passing by Battersea Power Station on the 156 and saw within the site what looked like the two boring machines for the Northern Line extension. The tunnel digging is due to start early this year.

The TBMs should have started months ago but the Battersea crossover box was delayed (don't know reason), and until it was ready they couldn't be lowered to their launch positions. Each one bores towards the outsides of the loop at Kennington, and junctions with the loop will be made.
