Apparently South Eastern sent out an incorrect map with lots of Greenwich line closures. Seems this has been corrected (I've just checked) and there are not the mass closures on the Greenwich route. Only Albany Park on the Sidcup line is closed plus the Bromley North branch although that's bad enough. I suspect that someone decided that mass closures including Deptford, Erith and Plumstead was not exactly a good idea and plans have been adjusted. I wonder if the fact the franchise is in the process of being re-let may have concentrated minds at Govia somewhat. And yes that's a very cynical view on my part. Extraordinary: I checked on the National Rail app earlier and trains were coming up as cancelled, so it must be a late change. Southeastern's comms are dreadful. I feel sorry for their hapless Twitter team who are going to be on the end of all this, they take some fearful stick on the company's behalf. Bad form to quote your own reply, but a classic example of this tonight at Lewisham. Trains stuck, passengers disembarking along the track making things worse, poor comms from Southeastern and their Twitter team taking some brutal abuse.

Which probably means about 50,000 people will be claiming to have been on the train, or am I just too cynical?

Which probably means about 50,000 people will be claiming to have been on the train, or am I just too cynical? I'd expect some proof of purchase would be required before they receive anything (I'd imagine a picture of their ticket or oyster history is suitable). But sneaky fare-dodgers can't use anything

I would ban the idiots from claiming that walked along the track. I don't blame people for detraining under the circumstances.

I don't blame people for detraining under the circumstances. People had been stuck on trains for longer during the bad weather. I know, all night in the New Forest the previous day. It was either get off or be stuck there in sub zero temperatures for goodness only knows how long.
