A statement from RMT about today's incident at Bromley South. I'm not sure what they expected Southeastern to do and as for their claim about violence on the London end being out of control I travel in that area quite regularly and I've never seen anything out of the ordinary. I would have thought Bromley South is one of the safest stations with ticket gates and a police station next door, anti social behaviour issues seem more readily associated with the Dartford area. www.rmt.org.uk/news/rmt-on-bromley-south-stabbing/

Even the late night ‘vomit comets’ from London to Dartford via Woolwich or Bexleyheath are more ‘cheerfully rowdy’ than sinister.

Any more news on the victim from the Bromley stabbing?
I must say this is unusual, most of the time when I’ve traveled late on any of the SE metro lines it’s been more jovial and rowdy than problematic with criminal elements, though I do hope this forces SE to pull their socks up and get more staff, Bromley South is highly staffed abs this stabbing still took place, imagine what it would have been like at another major station like Woolwich Arsenal or Lewisham

Bromley South seems one of the most unlikely places for something like this to happen, police station next door and always well staffed as platform staff have to dispatch every train.

I don't wish to seem insensitive but knife crime is out of control in London and nowhere is a safe place. It's not the area its the people committing the crime. Look at the tragic incident with Tony Eastlake at Essex Road.

There are places like Brixton which has a police station plonked near amenities yet crime still takes place right around it so whilst it’s understandable you might think of it being a deterrent, it doesn’t seem to work that way

Indeed, especially since there is a big police station right next to it as well.

The member of staff that was stabbed has been released from Hospital, it’s understood the 17 year old suspect was challenged over a ticket when the altercation started. The Suspect has since been charged with grievous bodily harm, actual bodily harm, assault, possession of a class A drug with intent to supply and possessing a knife. The two other members of staff assaulted during the altercation were treated by ambulance staff at the scene but not taken to hospital.

Lewisham is a mess. In rush hour the 18.34 service to Slade Green via Sidcup that was supposed to call at platform 2 was announced to be altered to platform 4 instead, AS THE TRAIN WAS PULLING IN. About 30 of us had to run over. I was confused how it could serve the Sidcup line from platform 4, so asked and was told it was diverted via Bexleyheath because of a signal failure at Hither Green. No one else on the train was told though until they had boarded it. Meanwhile the dot matrix was advertising it as a Gillingham service, and someone on the train was told it was an Orpington service! I had to instruct her to get off at Kidbrooke and go back to Lewisham, to get a 208 as all the Grove Park line services were also cancelled through Lewisham. What a headache.

They’re not going for scrap - just into warm storage. I’ve heard a couple may be moving to Worksop

The Networkers were my childhood. Is it bad to say I only learnt what a Networker was about a month ago?
