I don’t like having to rely on the Thameslink services from Abbey Wood. Could really do with a 15 min service at peaks. Could extra trains run from Plumstead sidings then Abbey Wood then out east to Medway towns ?

A lot of money got spent on building Tanner Hill Junction so that both Bexleyheath/Woolwichservices could continue going to Charing Cross. Alternatively just west of New Cross trains can still be routed via North Kent Junction to Charing Cross.
Moreover the biggest problem is big centralised control rooms, to save money where a signal operator now controls a big area, instead of a local signal operator that just set route,, when necessary - where now a computer holds everything to timetable, hence why trains sit on Tanner Hill Junction for minutes.

Indeed the benefits of the Tanners Hill upgrade was to make Charing Cross journeys through Lewisham easier.
I really don’t see how they can axe CX trains from the Woolwich and Bexleyheath lines, Cannon Street trains from the Hither Green side can still serve CS just by avoiding Lewisham.
Service patterns in the future should be this:
WOOLWICH LINE: 4tph Cannon Street via Greenwich 2tph Thameslink via Greenwich 2tph Charing Cross via Lewisham (non stop to London Bridge)
BEXLEYHEATH LINE: 4tph Cannon Street all stops 2tph Charing Cross, Lewisham to LB non stop
This is 4tph each way using the crossover at Lewisham, from SE Mains to NKL side of Lewisham
Perhaps something like this could work for the Hither Green/Ladywell side.
SIDCUP LINE: 2tph Cannon Street to Dartford, all stations except Lewisham 2tph Charing Cross to Gravesend, fast LB to Hither Green 2tph London Victoria to Gravesend, all stations
CHISLEHURST LINE 2tph Cannon Street to Orpington, all stations except Lewisham 2tph Charing Cross to Sevenoaks, fast to Hither Green 2tph London Victoria to Orpington, all stations
HAYES LINE: 2tph Charing Cross to Hayes, fast to Ladywell 2tph Charing Cross to Hayes, calling at Lewisham

Bexleyheath has the useful and quicker 301 bus to take them to Abbey Wood. To be honest this seems very poorly thought out, a few users on the Railforums were saying it’s good that Bexleyheath and Woolwich lose CX trains, I pointed out to one user that these services are very popular and busy even post Lizzie line, but his only retort was that Woolwich now has a link to New Cross……. All too often unfortunately, passengers are regarded as interfering with running the most technically 'correct' railway on those kinds of threads. The trains aren't running for their own benefit, they're there for passengers, and there's a need for balance. It's all very well saying people can change at Cannon St for Bank or the District Line, but that attracts an additional fare. I've had some absurdly long waits at London Bridge for an onward Charing X train off peak.

It seems when everything is uploaded as there is still so many services missing (not uploaded yet) is that what is running off peak will be the same on Saturday & Sundays bar the new Charing X - Maidstone East which will be 2tph Mon-Fri and 1tph Saturdays with no Sunday service

What is the point of that new service to Maidstone East?
I would have thought the Charing Cross to Dartford via Woolwich Arsenal would’ve been better extended to Greenhithe, Gavesend, Strood & Maidstone East, that would give extra options for the Elizabeth Line and DLR.

As I understand it there won't be an off peak Charing Cross to Dartford via Woolwich service and it would be much slower anyway. There have been calls for the Maidstone to London Bridge service to be reinstated ever since the previous service to Cannon Street was withdrawn.

I've had some absurdly long waits at London Bridge for an onward Charing X train off peak. Exactly on point. Switching to the tube requires another fare and Bank isn’t Cannon Street, it’s a completely separate station, hardly replaces Charing Cross. I get that CrossRail interchanges at Abbey Wood but the Charing Cross trains are still very popular.

St Mary Cray have calls on the Ashford services Swanley and Maidstone have needed this for donkey’s years. Glad to see it finally happen. Is it running all day long? And will the Victoria to Ashford via Bromley South & Maidstone East services still stop at both St Mary Cray and Swanley?
