I wonder what Abellio's bid is centred on, replacing the entire fleet like they have set out to do on Greater Anglia? Time will tell I guess.... Depends entirely on what the DfT finalise in the ITT. If they set dwell time and crowding parameters that make the Networkers obsolete then you may get fleet replacement. However I do not see the 375s and the HS1 Javelins going anywhere. They'll be kept. There may be scope to get rid of any temporary infill fleets from elsewhere - I've lost track of what was supposed to go to SET and what, if anything, actually got there off the back of Thameslink cascades. Rumour has it that Porterbrook have offered the soon to be redundant Class 458s to bidders. Presumably these would displace 465/9s to Metro duties.

I suspect the leasing companies go around offering any spare stock. Time will tell who chooses to take it up. There are also the 707s from SWT and the newish Stansted units that are coming free, and they won't be about 20 years old unlike the 458s

The thing that screams out at me from that is the Woolwich and Sidcup lines go up on Sundays from 2 to 4 trains an hour, but the Bexleyheath line remains at 2 trains an hour, which is a pity.

This is for the closure 26th August - 2nd September? I would think so as I think it says if you click in the link in the description. As ever with South Eastern trying to get to the info is overly difficult. After digging around in Twitter and then multiple searches in the National Rail journey planner it seems to be an hourly service from Dover that will run into Waterloo. Quite why they cannot just publish a pdf timetable and put it on their website I know not. Unfortunately the service has no stops within Greater London or the Oyster area as Sevenoaks is first stop. Even more annoying the outward train from Waterloo arrives at Sevenoaks 2 minutes after the train going to Waterloo departs Sevenoaks. (rolls eyes)

(rolls eyes) I think they'll also be an hourly service from Waterloo main station to Ramsgate, also running hourly...and also going non stop to Sevenoaks :/ Usually in situations like this, trains would stop at Orpington, Bromley South or even Grove Park!

Thanks for that. I didn't check Ramsgate services as I'd just about lost the will to live in taking the best part of an hour to do something that should take less than 5 minutes if only South Eastern could be bothered to provide info in a convenient form. Also thanks for confirming that I wasn't going entirely mad in expecting Bromley South or Orpington be served. I actually checked Bromley South first. Having now checked you are correct that it is a half hourly service to/from Waterloo.

Lol, Southeastern lost me on their website when they explained every train service that was running out of each London station APART from Waterloo? Surely if they continue to keep the diversion quiet, people would think they put down Waterloo as a mistake!

Surely if they continue to keep the diversion quiet, people would think they put down Waterloo as a mistake! It is possibly the last opportunity to ride a passenger train on the former Eurostar curve. I understand there is a desire to remove it from service and demolish it but only when the period of use specified by the EU for its funding contribution has expired. If they knock it down before then the money has to be refunded.

I notice the franchise competition for SE is now down to three contenders : Trenitalia has pulled out of bidding.

Looking at that document it strikes me that the author probably failed his/her GCSE English Language, so don't be surprised if a 2 tph Sunday service CX - DT via BZ has been omitted. What astonishes me most however is the 4 tph frequency for Stone Crossing, Swanscombe and Northfleet. The current traffic barely supports 2 tph. Surely the Thameslink service should omit those stations. Also the same should apply to the "semi fast" Sidcup line service, which would then become a genuine express service that it seems SE area trying to market it as. Let the VA - GV via BZ service call at these stations.

I had that covered : I'm afraid as regards Sunday services it is true : the Bexleyheath line is proposed to still be 2 trains an hour.
