Contrary to many people's thoughts, we were actually voting whether we wanted Cameron to leave or remain, we are still in the EU. ServerKing 's ibus '*' reference is actually a good reflection of where we are (or not are). One thing that has upset me is the toned down expressions of Gove and Johnson. They should be reveling in this but they are doing the political trying to get people back on side, not upset anyone tactics. How many faces do politicians have???

No one can actually predict what will happen in the future regardless of the decision - it was this sort of apocalyptic view that made me switch off from the election coverage. I'm sorry but it was entirely predictable that what has happened this morning - the pound crashing, share prices collapsing, the PM resigning, the Scots wanting out from the UK, European leaders wanting us out ASAP, fascist loonies in Europe cheering - would result from a Leave vote. Plenty of experts, you know those people who are not to be trusted according to Mr Gove, predicted all these things. Anyone who has even a basic level of understanding of economics could have predicted the turbulence. I am even reading that people who voted Leave are "shocked" "worried" and "didn't think a Leave vote would count". What on earth did they think would happen? This is why voting is banned in so many countries - it's powerful, it has consequences. It will get a lot worse pretty quickly because the situation is largely out of our hands now. We don't have a functioning government and the opposition is busy imploding too. This is simply a disaster. We have simply lit the fuse to an enormous bomb under our country and now have to await the explosion.
It sounds like more 'project fear' nonsense to me, to seriously suggest that some people voted leave but didn't think it would count, really??
I suspect this is the beginning of the end for the EU and there are murmurings of a similar referendum in France.
The disaster would have been a victory for remain, I think we all accept there may be a few problems in the short term, but in the long term we'll be much better off.

Shame it has come to a period of further time wasting rather than getting actual governing done. But the result is a result and we have to live with it.

Mr Cameron went to the EU to renegotiate terms and got virtually nowhere. EU politicians ignored the English voters view at their peril. If they had listened the result may have been very different.

It sounds like more 'project fear' to me to seriously suggest that some people voted leave but didn't think it would count, really?? I suspect this is the beginning of the end for the EU and there are murmurings of a similar referendum in France. We are still part of Europe, it's the EU we will be leaving and not before time either. The disaster would have been a victory for remain, I think we all accept there may be a few problems in the short term, but in the long term we'll be much better off. Not project fear at all - merely relating what a member of the public told a BBC reporter. There are various other remarks that suggest people voted "leave" over problems with their local councils. Even if only 50% true it is profoundly worrying that people had no real idea what they were voting about nor did they appreciate that, unlike a general election with marginal constituencies, every vote counted towards the decision. Even more ridiculous is that the second most Google search from UK computers today is "what is the EU?". I mean for heaven's sake. I know for some people it was a matter of principle and that's fine. However I fear that the appalling campaign, from both sides, has led to a decision that a great many people and future generations will come to bitterly regret. It is already clear that leading Leave campaigners are now backtracking from their so called "promises" during the campaign which suggests it was a massive confidence trick by an "elite" against the voting public. As for the rest I disagree completely with you. We have made our bed and we will all live with the consequences. I think we both understand where we stand and for the sake of the wider forum I'd be grateful if you didn't reply to this post. I'm not in the best frame of mind today. Let's accept we have had an exchange of views and that's it. Well if a member of the public told a BBC reporter that it must be true? Hmmm! There is a smear campaign from some who didn't get the outcome they wanted trying to portray those who voted leave as buffoons who didn't know what they were doing, just clutching at straws I'm afraid. I'm sorry but you can't make postings and then ask people not to reply to them, I hope you're feeling better soon.

Shame it has come to a period of further time wasting rather than getting actual governing done. But the result is a result and we have to live with it. Apparently the vote result may be illegal as the result plus the turnout was below 80% (using the same rule Boris tries on Tube workers when they strike) - 73% turn out is not the entire population. It's up to whoever picks up the keys next to invoke Article 50 of Lisbon Treaty - but don't fear, Article 49 is a way to still take things out of the Recycle Bin and get things back on the desktop Still, they're wasting no time adding new stickers to the rear doors of the 195s

Exactly, Mr Cameron and the EU have bought it all on themselves!

One of the most shocking days for me in a while, Britain is out of the EU. Cameron's decision has come as expected as at the end of the day, a Brexit supporter will be needed to "steer this ship" into the future. Of course it wouldn't be a political occasion with out the likes of Trump being involved, and his visit to Scotland just angered me. In a way, I wasn't too pleased with the visit of Obama earlier with this year, in the fashion of dictating is on what he believes is correct.
Both sides had their personal pros and cons, but here is to a Brexit future to our nation

Trump&Johnson sounds like a really bad law firm The future looks blonde and angry, rather like an episode of TOWIE in Marbs... some papers are saying that it may trigger a domino effect across the bloc, Sweden, France and Italy are on the verge of elections which may usher in Eurosceptic governments which promise similar referendums in their countries. We've not so much as started working our notice, but have stormed out of the office after calling the manager a muppet I don't think a tearful remorseful phonecall to HR in the morning will get our job back Sad thing is that Boris Johnson and Farage were calling our bluff in the knowledge there was NO money for the NHS, and the border control will move back to Kent, and migrants will just come straight here unhindered. Now the Leave campaign solution has proved as effective as the aircon on an LT

Didn't take the BBC long to come out with "Frexit" either. I was expecting at least a week.... didn't even manage a day!! Frexit sounds like an animal laxative Daily Fail spoke of Nexit ( Netherlands ) and Swexit (Sweden) as other restless countries consider their futures in the EU. Personally, I think its gotten too big, like Blac Chyna's bum how can you standardize 27 countries, and now there's talk of a European Army. Interesting that they all threatened to kick Greece out last year after they refused austerity measures, then backed down later on. Makes me think the calls for the UK to hurry and clear her desk is just bravado so they don't lose face... they are as shocked as the rest of us. There's even talk of London staying in Europe as an independent city state... we can't even fix potholes in Hounslow or clear litter in Haringey but we aspire to be like Monaco One thing we could do is tear up European pollution laws, recover the DLAs and DWs from Ensign and put them back into service. They are cleaner than the LTs
