I favour Britain remaining in the European Union, for various reasons really. During our time in the Common Market and European Union, several work directives from the Social Chapter have helped us. These included the maximum 48-hour week for non-essential services, 20 days' paid holiday and paternity leave rights. Also, the variety of food especially from Europe has improved. We can work with other European countries for the good of the environment, defence, imports & exports through the Single Market and more. It also makes for better relations with other European governments and citizens in general. With so much good coming from our membership of the EU, long may it continue! There was apparently a poll stating that 73% of Londoners favour us staying in the EU. Mind you, the apparently most Eurosceptic borough in the country, Havering, is in Greater London, but the furthest borough from central London. I even remember the spoof Channel 4 drama last year with a UKIP MP for Romford East!

I don't wish to "rain on your parade" but I'd hate to see this Forum start debating the EU referendum. So far it remains a refuge from the utter nonsense *from both sides* in the ref debate that is flying around in the rest of the media. Long may the Forum remain so.

Whatever happens, my free movement won't be affected as I have dual nationality. The campaigns on both sides are absolute rubbish, one is typical conservative marlacy either stating things about non non-existent 'long term economic plans'. The other side can't say anything other than the illegal 'immigrants' supposedly putting non-existent strains on everything. The most annoying thing is purdah, which is basically an excuse for TFL to take another 2 week holiday in the Caribbean.

I totally disagree with you but I won't go into the whys and wherefores, this whole debate as been done ad nauseam elsewhere!

I thought that was exactly what the "Off Route" section of this forum is for?? But I do think that the title should be changed to "I Think...." or "Is Britain..." Rather than reading like a statement of fact

I'm inclined to leave this running too, much as the whole thing has just annoyed the hell out of me the past few days.
A lot of the people on my Facebook list are starting to air their opinions citing immigration and the NHS and its apparent strain as reasons to vote out. Also seen a picture on Facebook that says "share if you think these 2 (the PM and George Osbourne) should be sacked on June 24th".
My thoughts: 1/. I'm yet to see a reason to vote leave that doesn't mention migration, the NHS or this £350million figure - most of which we get back in a rebate. Actual contribution is nearer £120million. 2/. In or out, illegal migration isn't going anywhere 3/. Freedom of movement is a two way street. 4/. This isn't party politics as usual and this small matter is being overlooked

But if I did vote, I'd vote in, just because its fine as it is to be honest....

This isn't party politics as usual and this small matter is being overlooked I'd made my decision long ago TBH and it might shock some people which way I'll be voting given the trend in inner London, but one thing I made sure not to do was take too much notice of what either campaign said as personally, I think both campaigns were absolutely terrible - everything from apocalypse regardless of which side you choose to MP's defecting (I found that to extremely silly & petty). I'll be glad when it's all over with TBH. At the end of the day, regardless of which side you end up on, no one knows for certain whether we'll be better off in or out and literally, I see it more as your own personal gut instinct more than anything out
