Bit surprised (and not surprised at the same time) the 47 hasn't been mentioned - even before the closure of Tower Bridge I frequently saw buses rammed full throughout the day including past 10pm on a Sunday. Partly not surprised because there are a few tight turns I think would create issues such as at Surrey Quays Tesco northbound or Canada Water bus station. Same story for the 188 - frequently see it packed throughout the day with many people wanting a seat, but it has the same issues with potentially tight spots.

Having been to Spain from England on a 26T Tri-Axle coach and seen how they can negotiate those little streets the 5 should be a doddle bring it on I say upgrade it to ELT status as well while we're at it with some bus priority measures and yes if after crossrail and the Central London changes the 25 doesn't improve it's basically a straight line it should definitely get some has anyone seen Ensigns Tri-Axle Demonstrator it's pretty impressive. www.route-one.net/articles/Business%20deals/Ensign_s_new_Enterprise_challenges_the_market

One was parked up in Barking recently on a school trip duty. The one thing that really impressed me was how clear the destination equipment is!! Even in bright sunlight it was visible, which isn't something you can say alot about those.

I used to use the 123 then to go school, but somehow never saw that one. The nicest bus was the non LT single door Titan Capital Citybus run on the 123, seemed so much more different from the LT Titans. And that's a bus I never saw on the 123. I was shocked when I saw photos of it on Flickr. I did once see a National 2 on the 123 on a Saturday but regrettably didn't have a camera with me. I remember the ride, I cant even remember if it had a different driveline from the normal Gardner/Voith. It also felt warmer inside the bus. Never saw the Leyland National on the route. Only saw it on 97A and later W19 IIRC

Route 25, route 13 NF to Vic Neither route will get them though. The 25 is being deliberately restructured and will get a second restructuring post 2018. I predict it will lose its crown of busiest London bus route. A few random thoughts for possible tri-axle routes - 86, 96, 607 and 141. The first three are obvious ways to raise capacity on long, direct busy suburban corridors (I've assumed the 5 is getting tri-axles). The latter as a way of offering relief to parts of the 29/329 and also allowing the 21 to be removed north of Moorgate. The only difficulty is that there is not a proven hybrid tri-axle design (AFIAK). The Hong Kong evaluation vehicles have the added complication of including full air conditioning which adds to the weight / engine compartment issues. I guess you could do the 18 as well but the vehicle may need a different internal configuration as the 18 has a lot of local short trips with inevitable standee issues.
