That explains why I saw a LT in Denmark Hill which was returning to Q from Dulwich on Friday.

Is driver changeover at the Elephant? I was there earlier when I saw a 415 with a grand total of ONE passenger towards the Old Kent Road.

Southern/London Overground - London Bridge to West Croydon + New Cross Gate to Crystal Palace extras.
Metrobus and GAL (London General) using a mix of E's and WHVs. Was on a Metrobus vehicle in the 900 series (Single door with a non London ETB and dot matrix blind). Also saw another formerly used on the 54/75 in the 500s.

I received an email from TfL informing me of the extension of the 415 to the Old Kent Road. However, I've never used the route and don't think I will. How do TfL gather the info from Oyster thinking I will? Clearly TfL will know what buses or rail services you use. If you travel in the broad catchment area of the extended 415 then you may well receive an E Mail. If you use buses that parallel the 415 then you many also get an E Mail. Sometimes TfL just E Mail a load of people if it is a change they want to "boast" about! I've had the odd E Mail from them where I've thought "why did I get that?". The parallel routing may the logical reason as I use the 363 which operates along the extended part of the Old Kent Road or the P13 which also serves Tulse Hill.

The P4 (as mentioned) would make sense once both the Victoria line at Brixton and the DLR in Lewisham have the night service.

As a long term (until a few months ago) East Dulwich resident, I think the current situation as regards buses in the area is actually quite good compared to what we had in the past. The 12 always suffered reliability issues and during RM days it wasn't uncommon to see four or five of them leapfrogging their way up Barry Road towards Dulwich, usually followed by a 12A and a 78 (or 12AA, or P78, or 78A, or 7P8 or whatever was on the front of an LS). The 185 seemed to be the main dogsbody and I really can't remember seeing an empty one once, on Saturdays for a while you had the ridiculous 185A which was mainly there to keep 185s company - from behind. The first major change was when the 40 got rerouted to the Plough along with the full time extension of the 176 to Oxford Circus that really kicked things off. As for something starting from Forest Hill, I suppose you could send the 40 down there to terminate, but then I'd want either the 176 or 197 to be rerouted to avoid Forest Hill and it's terrible junction by going straight over Sydenham Hill and Kirkdale. Moz The 185A had two uses. It maintained capacity on Saturdays between Forest Hill and East Dulwich as the 176 terminated at Goose Green at weekends and kept a connection to the Elephant as well as added capacity between Forest Hill and Lewisham. I'd be against any removal of the 176 and 197 to Forest Hill, the 197 in particular is at it's busiest between Peckham and Forest Hill.

7 Day B+T Tram pass £21. (This can be reduced to £10.50 with a B+T Photocard if on some social security benefits) 7 Day two zone Travelcard without Z1 pass. £24.10.
The price of the B+T pass is only £3.10 less than a Travelcard. I have a B+T photocard, so am able to buy at half price, but if I had no choice, the two zone travelcard without Z1 is better value for money than the B+T Pass. (As long as you have a travelcard with at least Zone 3 on it, it's also valid on Tramlink).

The Citybuses on the 176 as a passenger were outstanding.
I think what happened was when LondonLinks Walworth Garage was closed, the service transferred to Cowie South London at N, which led to a mix of old style LT Olympians and the horrible Kentish Bus ones where as an average height man, the legroom was next to non existent!

The shock of the day was seeing the P13 operating a near-normal service today, although that information didn't appear to get to the passengers who were thin on the ground.
GAL at PM appeared to put their resources into providing the 363 again with a near-normal timetable throughout the day and was more frequent than the 12 which is a rare occurance.
At one point today, I saw three 185's down Lordship Lane within 10 mins of each other.
At least round here, it was an improvement on January's strike, but the lack of Arriva routes said it all, including the 176.
