A £7.7 million investment in ADL Enviro400 MMCs. Welcome news that the m1 is going to be double-decked - it has had to do more ('scuse pun) of the heavy lifting as former Yellow Buses route 3 was not replaced (it was duplicated by the m1 throughout) and the Poole journeys on the 1 group were cut back to Bournemouth.

the first 7 of 18 volvo b7tls have transferred from gne to gsc from the pictures ive seen they are LX06 plates so guess ex gal Ex GNE 6901-18, from the LX06 GAL batch originally for the 68/468. These have been given blue fronts on their existing Go North East livery, which suggests they are a stopgap and won't be around for very long. Morebus has ordered 28 brand-new ADL Enviro400 MMCs for delivery this Summer so some older Morebus vehicles may be cascaded to Bluestar.

When I visited Bournemouth in 2021 I was delighted to ride a 69 reg E400MMC. The interior seemed more spectacular than on the -reg examples, including a table and leather seating.

Yeah I noticed that also see they kept there GNE fleet numbers wonder if its a sign of them being temporary or a national Fleet number system being integrated by the go ahead group also I wonder if gsc will get any of Oxfords buses am I right in thinking they just ordered over 100 electric buses

Also Oxford City still has a number of Scanias in service that are nearing the end of their front-line service life, and some of the newer Oxford fleet are likely to be cascaded internally to Carousel and Thames Travel. I imagine Go South Coast will monitor the expanded Bluestar operation to see if investment in new vehicles is justified. Clearly Morebus has decided it is worth it.

Presumably this is to build more resilience into the timetables. I believe Bluestar 17 and 18 compete directly with First City Reds services so will be busier once these stop operating.

8 versas are moving from swindown to eastleigh Buses magazine, April 2023, has a photo of one (406 - MX60 EDP) operating in Southampton. It is still in Swindon's Bus Company green and blue livery, but the fleetnames have been changed to Bluestar and the strapline above the windows has been altered subtly so it now reads "better bus services in Southampton" rather than Swindon. The accompanying article states that, as well as the Versas and 13 06-registered Volvo B7TLs from Go North East* (which were originally London General vehicles), a number of Scania OmniCity single deckers have been transferred in from elsewhere within Go South Coast. * a photo of 6903 (LX06 EBC, formerly WVL254) is also featured elsewhere in the magazine.

I thought they were due 18 ex-WVLs. A change of plan - or a misprint in Buses magazine?
