This is now my most hated line. 0640 this morning at Waterloo , 17 min wait for a train towards Stratford. TfL had a “good service” marked up. Got a bus instead. Could there have been an incident at the time?

Could there have been an incident at the time? At times there are mysterious gaps in service. I have seen 6-8 min at worst but 17 min is a long time. The jubilee has had minor delays nearly every day for a very long time though due to shortage of drivers I believe Piccadilly is worse. I have to do green park - Knightsbridge every day and there are so many times there are 8, 10, even 12 minute gaps. Worse I have had is 13 min at 8:30pm once!

Are you talking about now compared to pre-covid? As since May 2021, Harrow and Wealdstone trains have been reduced to 4tph from 6tph

Maybe route 388 might eventually be extended or diverted to Waterloo to provide a Stratford to Waterloo link? Yes, it would mean yet another change of central London terminus but the more the merrier.

I have seen on FB that there is currently a Train stuck between Canary Wharf and North Greenwich because the brakes won't release , another train is going to try and nudge the train forward to get it working but if this doesn't work the the train will be evacuated can't be nice in this heat , would this be a software fault ?

(Canary Wharf station had been closed 13.37-18.33 due to an escalator sprinkler starting unrequested) Train was stalled approaching North Greenwich EB 19.15-21.08. Train behind was called forward but didn’t couple up and passengers transferred from defective train and taken back to Canary Wharf arriving 20.52. Defective train moves eastbound 21.02, brake fault (mechanical) compounded by Train Management Car Controller fault (software).

Reminds me of a similar incident I encountered although it was a main line train instead of the underground. Back in the silverlink days, I was travelling from Harrow & Wealdstone to Euston on a class 321 when a couple of minutes into the journey the train suddenly braked and stopped in the Kenton area. The driver couldn’t release the brakes and we were stuck there for around a hour. In the end, it was decided to couple the service that was stuck behind us into our train and that worked as the train finally completed its journey into Euston.

Seems the official TfL stance is the train was scheduled to go down the siding, but no one informed the driver, so did not instruct the passengers to alight at Green Park.
