Assume ATO works on the Charing X branch then ? 😂 computer error or human error very strange one , I guess Computers don't know everything . Seems the official TfL stance is the train was scheduled to go down the siding, but no one informed the driver, so did not instruct the passengers to alight at Green Park. That controller might be in for a bollocking. Or best case scenario a slap on the wrist.

On the 'big railway' the driver would be at fault for accepting an incorrect signal, I don't know if it's the same on LU?

Charing Cross is included on the signalling as used as a reversing point (detraining at Green Park). When there are closures affecting the east end trains are timetabled to run empty from Green Park to Charing Cross and reverse there . There is a train timetabled to do this every Sunday morning however that is an empty train.

It reminds me of the time I was on a 52, the driver took the wrong exit at Hyde Park Corner and we all got a free drive-past view of Buckingham Palace! (This was on a RM so shows you how long ago it was).

I'm just imagining the announcement now: "I'm sorry, but it seems that this train has travelled back to 1998 and so will terminate at Charing Cross. For all passengers going to a show at the O2,... it doesn't exist yet."

Perfect excuse for being late for work too. No one could argue with that

Yes, or, in the words of the Southern "Woooo" Guy who entertained Southern commuters regularly between 2014 and 2021, the "Time Tunnel Train".
