Hopefully the reduced timetable can prioritise shorter workings to White City, Leytonstone etc to keep the maxmimum capacity possible through Central London. It's a shame the Jubilee Line doesn't have more turnback facilities. It really does need the maximum frequency possible through the core, but stations at the Stanmore end don't really justify a train every few minutes. Ideally if alternate trains could just run West Hampstead to North Greenwich, that would give a better balance of capacity if fewer trains are available. If I remember correctly some years ago alternate trains terminated at Wembley Park rather than the full service going to Stanmore where it's not needed. I thought this still happened on occasion?

If I remember correctly some years ago alternate trains terminated at Wembley Park rather than the full service going to Stanmore where it's not needed. The current Jubilee timetable from 22 May has off-peak northbound trains terminating at: West Hampstead every 15min Willesden Green every 15min Wembley Park every 15min. Trains to Stanmore are every 5min. off-peak pattern is: Stanmore West Hampstead Stanmore Wembley Park Stanmore Willesden Green Stanmore.

All 1992 Stock can operate as 4-car. The specific problem at Hainault was gapping entering and leaving the depot. 4-car ‘92s do work happily on the W&City without the issue at Hainault. Returning to a through service will require more trains to retain frequency Not sure if the gapping issue can be overcome. In this day and age of engineering hopefully 4 car trains can run on the Central line to free up a train for the rest of the line.

The Central Line from Stratford to Leyton eastbound is ABSOLUTE TORTURE. My goodness the screeching sound on that part of the line can really make a person go deaf.
The maintenance folks really need to look at repairing the track on that side along with the Liverpool Street to Bethnal Green eastbound track.

So I'm not sure if I was to put this on this thread or the Elizabeth line thread but here goes. So I set myself a challenge. I got on a train to Stratford and got off there. That train terminates at Ealing Broadway. So I set myself a challenge to see how much time I could beat that central line train by.
Despite the delays on the line and a bit of a gap I just about managed to beat it by 4 minutes. I think if everything was running normally with no delays it would have been more. Next up the district line from Whitechapel to Ealing Broadway.
Watch this space.

Is it still that bad pulling into Notting Hill Gate from Holland Park and doing that screeching sound?

Alright I'm going to schedule a day in the summer and do it and I'll tell you my result.
