Not sure if there is a thread for this as I couldn't find one.
Anyway I rode it today and was surprised to see that trains are still not stopping at East Acton eastbound, despite the initial end date of the works being December 2021
Also they seem to have removed the 'alight here for Westfield London' announcement at White City and Shepherds Bush

Any updates on the refurbishment of the 92 stock, specifically the motors? One train was re-motored a while back but not heard of any others since, unless that train is still doing trials?

None have been released from Acton Works yet. 2 trains have the internal refurbishment and awaiting new motors and other trains are going through internal refurbishment.

On the Eastern End of the Central Line I heard spontaneous recorded announcements on the train about line closures this weekend. I was very surprised to hear it! It only stated "Part of the central line will be closed this weekend"

Aren't they in line to get replaced in the near future. Right after the Piccadilly Line gets their new trains. They should be back of the queue, the Bakerloo should be before the Central.

Right after the Piccadilly Line gets their new trains. There are options to order some for the Central, Waterloo & City & Bakerloo but only if finances are available hence only the Piccadilly to receive some currently. Originally, all were to be converted I believe before 2030 when the New Tube for London was first announced. Personally, I expect the 92 stock to survive into the 2030's before they are replaced - god help the 72 stock as much as I adore them if they have to carry on until then.

The 1972 stock is possibly a few parts away from fully collapsing. Whilst they've survived this long tfl really need to replace them as soon as.

Parts are becoming harder to source for them. They really have done their bit but they do need to be replaced.

Some good news from the CLIP project, the first 8-car train for passenger service transferred yesterday from Acton Works to Ruislip depot. Train will now undergo final maintenance and training prior to entering service later this year.
