District is scheduled 48¾min Elizabeth is scheduled 24min Quite interesting that the Elizabeth line takes only half the time than the District line is it? Stops a lot less for a start so of course it will be quicker.

I forgot about that side of the line. Is it still that bad pulling into Notting Hill Gate from Holland Park and doing that screeching sound? Honestly it's really horrible Wowsers I feel it for anyone going through that side day in and day out with no headphones. That can make a person deaf

So I'm not sure if I was to put this on this thread or the Elizabeth line thread but here goes. So I set myself a challenge. I got on a train to Stratford and got off there. That train terminates at Ealing Broadway. So I set myself a challenge to see how much time I could beat that central line train by. Despite the delays on the line and a bit of a gap I just about managed to beat it by 4 minutes. I think if everything was running normally with no delays it would have been more. Next up the district line from Whitechapel to Ealing Broadway. Watch this space. Not that same but speed wise I don't see much difference between the Central Line and Elizabeth Line between central London and Stratford. I actually find the Central Line so much more bearable now passengers have switched to the Elizabeth Line.
The only downside is just how run down the 92 stock is!

To be fair I think now the Elizabeth Line has achieved one of it's main goals now.

I don’t think I’d put ‘Central line’ and ‘bearable’ in the same sentence. It is in my opinion the least pleasant tube line by some considerable distance.

The Central Line from Stratford to Leyton eastbound is ABSOLUTE TORTURE. My goodness the screeching sound on that part of the line can really make a person go deaf. The maintenance folks really need to look at repairing the track on that side along with the Liverpool Street to Bethnal Green eastbound track. That section between Liverpool St and Bethnal Green eastbound has been like that nearly 10 years now!!!

Never got all this screeching when the 62TS was running apart from Bank EB which was understandable given the sharp bend.

What the hell has happened to the Central line? I used to use the central from around 1996 until 2006 when I moved south and became a 'big train' traveller. Since then I had barely used the CL only for short hops in the west end.
But wow, I have had to use it for a number of weeks and it's an utter disgrace. Gaps between services at peak are ridiculously long, only 4 through shuttles both ways around the Hainault loop A DAY, some trains sound horrific, some look horrific, the seats are badly ripped, some have lost cushion altogether, graffiti on a lot of carriages and worse of all, water still leaks through the vents despite what looks like recent work been done to fix it.
I'm not saying the CL was the perfect child out of London Underground's litter even back when I used it daily but for the love of god, have they just let it rot?
I fully appreciate there is a so-called refurb is taking a lot out of it but services levels have dropped considerably.
The Bakerloo line is in better condition and that hasn't had new trains or proper investment (like the centrals £800 million years ago) for over 40 years.

There's similar problems with the Jubilee line (reliability problems) and the Piccadilly line. These new trains can't come soon enough
