D7 and 414 are pointless routes, how come they're not gonna get withdrawn?

D7 and 414 are pointless routes, how come they're not gonna get withdrawn? The 14/414 are arguably justified to run together, and increasing the 14 AKA one of the slowest routes in London will just dump more buses into endless traffic

I doubt many people would waste their time on the 14 from Putney High St to Russell Square/TCR/Piccadilly or vice versa so it’s not a bad idea, however the southern terminus of the 414 is undesirable as it doesn’t even enter Putney properly, and the 14 has a 24 hr service.

I think he's referring to the duplication of other routes like the 14 and 277 The D7 is only duplicated by the 277 on some sections!

The D7 is only duplicated by the 277 on some sections! But tfl still wanted to get rid of the D7 Ammendments to the 277 meant the current D7 was pretty much entirely replaced by the 277 bar the small section where the 277 would have run via Spindrift avenue. The main sticking point was the loss of links from Canary Whalf area to the Royal London and entire loss of the service along the Highway which understandably created opposition. On the other hand I think the Mile End to Crosshabour services could have been covered adequately by the 135/277/D6/D8 with the D7 withdrawn.

You could still keep the N14 at Putney Heath, or ideally even merge with the N85 through to Kingston?
