Nothing to do with pitting the working class against each other, it is REALITY. People are not foolish and have woken up and smelt the coffee. A lot of chav papers like the Guardian or Daily Mirror like to dictate lies from the reality. End of the day, we do not have hundreds of fat cat CEO's as you put it earning £2k an hour in one company! The pitting together of the working class has been occurring on this very forum for nearly year now. What's the REALITY? You have both hundreds of Fat Cat Ceo's and MP's earning much more than train drivers and other railway workers, but it's us many have a problem with... No point in explaining, you just do not get it, its the burying your head in the sand approach. What next, footballers salaries etc. Surprised you never mentioned BBC presenters salaries.

Tube passengers face week of chaos as new drivers’ strike announcedTube passengers face a week of chaos at the end of July, including the near certain shutdown of the London Underground for at least two full days, it emerged on Monday.www.standard.co.uk/news/transport/tube-strike-july-london-underground-drivers-aslef-union-latest-b1093373.htmlFYI ASLEF stated
He said TfL had announced that a new “attendance procedure” would be implemented from January which would mean “no right to representation or appeal at stage one of the disciplinary process” and meaning that warnings remained on an employee’s record for a year, twice as long as at present.
Concerns had also emerged about the treatment of drivers who go sick for more than a week.
Changes to shift patterns would “make it impossible for Tube train drivers to organise their lives outside work or to have an effective change over system”, he added.
Mr Brennan said: “Their aim is an entirely flexible workforce with all existing agreements replaced – allowing them to cut hundreds more jobs and forcing those of us who remain to work harder for longer.
“To protect our pensions, working conditions, and agreements, our members are ready to act. Management need to realise that we will not just allow them to use the pandemic and government funding

Whilst I understand their motives, with the rail strikes in the previous week, and also on 29 July this will not go down well with commuters. They'll just hate the railways even more! And what are the train drivers going to do whilst we suffer? Put their feet up in front of the telly? Marvellous.

Can't imagine anyone sympathises with these guys anymore, think quite rightly they've become among the most frowned upon in society.

I’m far from buying my head in the sand, as i’ve said throughout I’m not striking for more money, my wage is more than enough, but shouldn’t need to justify my salary, it’s the change to terms and conditions that I don’t support and that’s across the board. But I get it now, I’ll just roll over and accept because Capital Omnibus on the bus forum thinks i’ve got my head in the sand. Thanks. With this whole debate, just best to agree to this disagree - don’t want to breach my company’s social media policy.

Where did I say you was striking for more money? Your the one complaining about fat cat salaries etc to detract from your own using distraction techniques. Where others have said they do not see the reason for why a train driver is paid so much. Many would be basing this on what it is like in other countries where train driver salaries are no way near as high as they are in the UK when you compare it to other jobs within the same field.

There is a NHS Strike on this week as we speak but has had little to no media attention very very strange . It has had plenty of media attention. Maybe you read the Daily Mirror and The Guardian so would not notice this. On almost every news media I have seen and listened to (radio, TV, internet, newspapers) yesterday, today etc it has been headline news about junior doctor strikes etc.

Tube strikes: What you need to knowLondon Underground drivers and staff are set to take strike action as part of a dispute over pensions, jobs and conditions.www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-66231905 4 consecutive days of very little tube £64k wages with a 8.4% increase in April Wow... No wonder people have had enough. This is an absolute joke! I don't remember the tube being on strike for that many days in a row in past strikes. I remember in previous strikes the buses were packed especially in central London. Some were non existent too. The Overground between Watford and Euston was really bad however the Richmond/CJ to Stratford line fared better. I don't think that London will cope next week with the strikes
