As weird as this may sound does anyone else think the reason why DXE have started so quickly is so that AV can prove to TfL that they are able to run their services well after losing so much work or just me 😂 The DXE's are late into service - original date was March IIRC. Oh didn't no that but since they only started to bring them out last week they seem to have entered service very quickly for a contract gain that's with the same opperator. Normally you would expect the old buses to still be in service for a few more weeks

Normally you would expect the old buses to still be in service for a few more weeks They loaned in a DXE from EB to do driver training which I suspect would have sped up the process - Tower Transit got all 28 WH's into service in less than a week and had a Streetdeck hired in for driver training so it shows it can be done if warranted

Whilst I agree with you in terms of that they should be called DE IMO, it’s already been confirmed by two different sources that they are DME’s - one source on here & then LOTS also confirmed it as well. RATP have already ordered 9.7m buses for the 470 and these are coded SDE but again, IMO, I agree that they should have a different code instead of SDE. Makes it more of a mockery that the 265’s 10.9 buses have been labelled ‘DEs’, someone clearly fudged up there lol RATP's single deck code allocation is just a tad bit messed up lol

It took a few years for them to recover the losses of the 235 and 237. More of a level playing field when the 237,E8 come back around as they.l need new buses. Also, I wouldn’t put it past RATP to be more creative and try for the 282,427 and 482. Massive long shot though. I hope RATP do become more adventurous. I would love to see them regain the 482. I really hope RATP can concieve a way of making running the 427 profitable and if they can it would be great to have RATP back in Uxbridge, it's so sad to think that AV have never recovered from the losses of the 120 and 222. I don't think RATP will bid for the 282 unless they can do something similar to what they do with the 139 so that all 282 dead runs are only from AV to Ealing Hospital. We'll see but one thing is for sure, I don't want Metroline winning/retaining any of those three routes

Did I tempt fate, wrote this not knowing few hours later a critical failure would scupper Hammersmith Bridge The Richmond changes will almost certainly go ahead, but I wonder if the merged 419, will now end in a loop somewhere in the Barnes area, Should release buses to replace the trio of remaining DPS on 72. Although as stated in the Hammersmith Bridge thread, the need for lots of single deck routes won’t really be justified if the Bridge is closed for years. I could see a new batch of double decks get delivered to 72 to try and maintain capacity on the diverted (and lengthened route), although might take 1-2 months to get any longer term temporary strategy in place. Furthermore would not surprise me if the 10 new VHs get diverted short term, along with some spare buses to achieve this. The changes to 406 fleet could wait a few weeks. By July got the 81 fleet as well, which could cover until any new buses arrived. I would guess Wrightbus would be more than happy to build more buses (as would ADL, but they would probably take longer), and ultimately with routes like 266 being added and possible double deck 306 starting (which may be more urgent if a Castlenau via Putney Bridge extension we’re to happen for the duration), then there is going to be unplanned sudden extra double deck demand. Starting to think they might try and get some Scania back short term, or even lease the Scania or Volvo hybrids that Stagecoach are offloading. Probably a lot of Plan B being considered for duration of Bridge closure, but one thing is clear going to completely mess up the double deck requirements of RATP. More upgraded SPs ? I can’t see any mid contract fleet changes made to either the 33 or 72 bearing in mind the state that tfl are in. Those ex E3 SPs have seemingly departed now so I tnthink we can rule them out to bridge a gap also. I think the 72 diversion via Putney Bridge makes sense now although more vehicles would be required. It could potentially be aided by a shortening of the 265 if the latter part of that route was adopted for the 72 redirection. Good luck to GAL taking over the 209. Almost becomes a pointless route. If route 72 has a long-term diversion via Putney Bridge, it may as well go double-deck.

I have been informed that 21 e200MMCs are on order for 272 and 440 due next month Will be numbered DME 30361- 30381. (apparently DME is code for 10.5m versions) Iwonder whether the 10.5m examples at FW will be reclassified DME?

Are the 13reg VHs at BT leased? I say this because if RATP do retain the 139 I see it getting new buses for it's new contract next year BT's 13-reg VHs have been straying on the the 79 a lot more lately. I actually got a 13-reg VH on the 79 not long ago (at first I was so confused to see a Gemini 2 body blinded for the 79, a callback to the route in its Metroline days, before realising it was a BT VH). If the 139 does get new buses I can see them keeping the 13-reg VHs for the 79 seeing as RATP are trying to oust all their SPs Of course, an easy way for route 139 to gain new buses would be of it is reawarded to Metroline.

As I've said before, I think Metroline will try hard to get the 139 back. Metroline got a raw deal from the Finchley Road changes and if I were Metroline I would want to avenge the losses. W is probably better placed to operate the 139 in its new form than it was in the route's old form, it remain to be seen but I think there's a good chance of electric buses for the route if Sadiq Khan really is serious about cleaning up the air on Oxford Street

Route 482 used to be HH I believe.

If RATP are clever, they could bid to run the 282 from AV and SO. Every bus which runs dead to SO could end at Mount Vernon Hospital and every bus which runs dead to AV could end at Ealing Hospital. If they were to put this in their bid surely they could have a cheap bid and make the route profitable

Having just seen the link to new bus in Abellio thread, reminded me that E11 is lost on 24 May and the E10 a week later
Currently for E11 RP has SDE 20201, 2, 3, 10, 11, 14 (some other 2007-2008 still exist) Currently for E10 HH has SDE 20278-20286, 20295 (2014 versions, 20295 is 2012) Epsom is using 20207 and 20296
Expected that the 2007 and 2008 versions will be withdrawn and the 2014 versions move to Epsom for K5 (and likely to appear on 463, S1 and S3) releasing 2009 & 2011 solos
Not sure what is happening to the pair from 2012
Possibly one SDE (no idea which one), might go to TV as backup for K4 (20206 was at TV, don't know if still there anymore)
