Looks like there has been a crash today involving a UNO Omnidekka within the London boundary on route 614. Not sure on the exact location or the fleetnumber/registration of the bus. Looks like damage is minimal, so hopefully no one was hurt. www.flickr.com/photos/britishbuses/6240917146/in/contacts/

I heard on the radio a bus was on fire tonight. Could anyone elaborate on that statement?

Also spot the idiot from Texas, USA who blamed the construction of the bus. Out of interest, who picks up the bill, First or the leasing company that the former AVL came from as the bus is on hire due to warranty work being done on the B9TL's.

I personally really liked the comment about how tfl have tree deflectors on their buses... Looking at the bus I can't help but think it wouldn't have made much of a difference!!

Cant see a branch taking the whole roof off as metal bridges dont really take them off fully? ? Something that has come across my mind is trees that bend or grow towards the highway if a bus or a large tall vehicle were to go up reasonably close to the kerb some damage will be done to the vehicle. A good example being on route 61 towards Orpington after passing through Locksbottom there are some very thick branches with evidence of TfL red paint! When it rains the branches hang lower and i've been on a 61 thats wacked this thick branch and it didnt half make me jump even though i watched it approaching my bus!

I would hazard a guess that First would have to foot the bill but only because the bus has to return to the leasing company in a good overall condition

Just heard about this on BBC 94.9, so for your enjoyment: - Hooligan bus drivers who are tearing down a safety barrier on the approach to Hammersmith Bridge with their bear hands should be made to pay for their vandalism, according to the council that is footing the repair bill. Hammersmith & Fulham (H&F) Council estimates that it has spent more than £50,000 in the last year to fix the barrier, which is ripped off its stanchion by rogue bus drivers on an almost daily basis.www.lbhf.gov.uk/Directory/News/Bridge_bus_hooligans_must_be_brought_to_justice.asp

Send the companies the bill I say. They'll soon do something about the behaviour of their staff then!

Only London United drivers by the looks of it - even though it's an ex NCP garage...! I was watching a report about it this morning on BBC London News and they showed a few CCTV clips of it happening. I managed to identify one bus as YX09HKJ (DE40) on Route 72 ;D (although I must say that all the three that were shown were of London United drivers, on Routes 33, 72 and 419 ).
