The reason I hate the 108 is because it so unreliable I know this because I am a regular passenger on this awful route especially when I struggle to the bus stop with a heavy bag of shopping then find out there is no service and have to struggle back up the stairs again. I think that they should have diverted the 108 to Poplar all saints during this work at least to provide a cross river service. I am not the only one moaning about this. as well as being a bus enthusiast I am a bus user and relay on buses to visit family, go to work etc. I am allowed to have an opinion if I like and I don't give a toss what any one else thinks. plus I can remember London's buses pre privatisation and In my view it was so much better than it all is today. As I know a lot of you are younger than me and wont remember all that you only have today to go on, as I know that a lot of you don't like my posts. This is my view I don't care what you think! We are all entitled our own views but stating you don't give a toss isn't the best way to integrate into the forum. Well it was obvious that some people don't like what I say, I feel don't welcome, so there you go, I felt backed into a corner. I don't like the 108 and that is it!

I am allowed to have an opinion if I like and I don't give a toss what any one else thinks. This is my view I don't care what you think! Bit of a poor attitude in my opinion. Part of being a member of this Forum is to discuss and debate things about London Buses and other topics - part of that should be to read and try to understand other peoples positions and opinions and debate if you feel differently. To just state that you aren't interested in what others think or their opinions makes me think why should I bother to read your posts?

Not necessary. A forum is not a great place to be if you are not interested in opinions... I do hope I had not provoked this post. My comment was merely pointing out the likelihood of a burst water main given the comment that one hasn't happened so far... I am interested in opinions it is obvious some people are not interested in mine. To me it sounded like a dig.

Theres quite a few burst water mains around at the moment and I know that Greenwich now has one so expect delays around there this week. I know there are gas main repairs in Westcombe Park at the moment, didn't know a water main had gone as well. Where in Greenwich is that?

I have gone back and read the pages and I don't see it that way - you mentioned how you dislike the route, a member gave an explanation as to a cause. Whilst some jokes were made, these related to the possible cause of 108 woes i.e. Thames Water. I did not read anyone having a go at you and it seems to me that you are unable to have someone state another view from you.
MODS MSG I strongly recommend we return to topic with no more arguing/snipping or I will edit/delete posts Thank you in advance RM5chris TBF Moderation Team

As Metrobus said earlier, the 108 isn't easy to operate especially because of Blackwall Tunnel. Sometimes I hate the 108 aswell especially waiting 10 mins for a 108 then entering an overcrowded DWL/ED or getting left at a bus stop That really makes me angry.

Add to the roadworks list the southbound closure of the A12 - burst water main apparently which caused the road to collapse hence no buses coming north of the river.

I don't think anyone was having a go at you for having an opinion - I certainly wasn't so if you saw it that way, then I apologise. I was merely making one of my usual 'run & hide before I tell it' jokes

Hello - I should confess that I wrote the blog posts the original poster linked to. There are certainly bigger problems with the 108, but a link to the Olympic Park from the south would be a very good thing, particularly as we've politicans that bleat on constantly about "Olympic legacy" this side of the river, so I thought I'd dip my toe in the water to see what the level of support was. I was surprised (and intrigued) to discover there was a fair bit of support for it. It's not the end of the world if it doesn't happen, but it's good that there's some kind of discussion about making the 108 a better bus, and I wanted to promote a discussion about river crossing that wasn't aimed at motorists... Considering the 108 has been pulled back to terminate at lewisham shopping centre in its centenary year I would like an extension to take place at least to stratford international. If it diverts via warton road it would add only 5-10 minutes of journey time and would provide useful links day and night to the olympic park. If it goes an increase in pvr due to the extension that might partially help with overcrowding. As for reliability that can never be sorted out due to the tunnel unless as others have suggested for the route to be split.
