In my opinion though I would say a fault being found, and consequently having to immediately stand them down to be rectified does count towards unreliability One fault that was fixed doesn’t constitute as unreliable IMO I also agree that the reliability is due to fuel delivery, not the WHDs themselves. They had one fault which was fixed. One could then argue bendy buses were unreliable when they had to be taken out of service due to a fault but once fixed they lasted a long time even out of London

The VWHs are going to leave WJ and they are going to move to the 92. Whether this happens upon the 295's departure or the 92's new contract is yet to be seen, but can only appear on the 31 in the intervening period - which has its own allocation of MCV bodied B5LHs. Only 226 and 206 (not sure on this one, happy to be corrected) can't take deckers at WJ - hopefully they do a bit of 487 I know the VWH have 187 on the blinds, can they actually do the route, if so surprised it hasn’t happened! Even 487 has had a vwh on it and it hasn’t been at WJ as long as 187

It’s amazing how RATP’s growth has grown in NW London. When they gain the 226 they get a little bigger. They get a little bit bigger in Cricklewood and Willesden. They also get more coverage in Harlesden. At one point Harlesden was nearly fully metroline, now RATP have 18,220,228, 266 and will add 226 to the list, in fact Harlesden is more RATP then Metroline if I am not mistaken. Very sad indeed IMO.

Is there anything that prevents dds on H17? if not and that moves to WJ that gives another option for Dd to be used and DEL could be used on 112 if it moves to WJ

Question of the day people, which Metroline route (or routes) would you say has the most fleet variety? I'd say the 32, 210 and 263 myself. Most W routes, id add the 189 aswell 189 rarely sees anything other then LT’s.

Those routes do have variety! 245 sees all different types of volvo bar the VMH, today it had ex first VW, metroline native VW, the two types of faces of VWH and in addition the hydrogens.

I believe the 19 reg DEL were mainly ordered for 324 with a few for 112 extension but they couldn’t fit on route 324 so that’s why del frequent 316. Were the 19-reg DEL not the ones mistakenly ordered/built and delivered for the 393 and subsequently replaced by shorter 69-reg DEMs? Yes I remember now! Thanks for clarification

I can’t remember baring DE1647 but did the DEs that are currently allocated to the 487 originally come from UX? Because if I’m right the original DEs bought for the 487 where withdrawn and they got replaced by DEs from somewhere else that’s after the DELs originally ordered for where diverted. The current DE on 487 were the ex 245 DE

VWH from HT end up on 30 and 274 from time to time so I don’t think it would be a priority to have one type at KC Yes but they're not based at KC. If KC do any maintenance in house, no engineers at KC need to be trained to work with the VWH. I think maintenance is at HT as the VMH from 30 and 274 end up on HT routes as well

The 91 could move to KC without any VWH's. VWH2108 -> SG for 120 VWH2109 -> SG for 120 These would replace VMH2532 and VMH2533 currently on the 120. VMH2532 -> KC for 91 VMH2533 -> KC for 91 VMH2583 -> KC for 91 VMH2584 -> KC for 91 VMH2585 -> KC for 91 VMH2586 -> KC for 91 These would replace VWH2093 to VWH2099 (bar 2097) currently on the 91. The 31 would operate using: VMH2558 - VMH2560 VMH2564 VMH2572 - VMH2580 VWH2093 - VWH2096 VWH2098 - VWH2099 What is good about this is that it keeps KC all VMH albeit with route 31 instead of 91 mixed VMH/VWH. I wish PB would swap its final VMHs for more VWHs but still. VWH from HT end up on 30 and 274 from time to time so I don’t think it would be a priority to have one type at KC

Not surprised about PA closing, probably the most logical garage to close given all the excess capacity in the area. It's relatively small, and very close to both G and PV which have space available. Though I would still question the need for the new Alperton garage, with PV being round the corner with excess space still, could easily keep the 83/483 there in the long term. Regarding reshuffles, I think this would be the best solution. 31 to KC - filling the space still available from the 214 (plus the 393 was previously rumoured to be moving there). Very close to the Camden Town terminus, and maintains a standardised VMH fleet with the 30/274. 90 to G - Not far from the line of route or the terminus at Northolt, has space available, and VMHs are already used on the 607/E9. 297 to PV - Very close to the line of route, and already has VWs. I think route 31 would be better back at HT (who had an allocation in 1987-89) with route 91 moving to HT, taking all HT VMHs and some VWHs with it. While route 297 is currently VW operated, it could require more modern buses upon retender next December. I’m guessing you meant 91 moving to KC?

Wonder where the routes other than the 120 will move 31/N31 could go to HT or KC, the 297 would probably end up at PV or the new Alperton garage whenever it opens or even AC if they do have space to run another route from there and as for the 90 it would probably go to PV as well. Not sure if 31 could even go to WJ?
