Not being local I may have this wrong, but if anyone bought a lovely flat in West Silvertown because of the ease of getting to London City Airport, am I right that now they can't go directly because the 330 only goes to Thames Barrier? Is there a stop for the 474 near to the 330 stand going into the airport? Perhaps the 474 should have been left alone and the 330 extended via Kier Hardie to Custom House or Prince Regent.

This would be far more logical. The 473 already links to City Airport and North Woolwich. Or could have just left the 241 unchanged, as that would have kept a link from the Keir Hardie Estate to Stratford. The 325 could be extended to Royal Wharf (instead of Royal Albert Dock).

If you can afford a lovely flat in Silvertown you unlikely to be the type to use buses to go to the Airport! I am more concerned about local people who now have to walk to catch a bus for onward journeys to school or work.
The ideal solution would have been for the 330 to stand at Connaught Bridge bus stop but this is not really practical and don't think buses could manage the small roundabout? Another solution would have been the 241 double running to serve the stop but again its the same issue. At least this way passengers would have had a easy interchange for connecting buses.

Or have the 330 terminate at the airport? Might be good news for taxis, Airport to Silvertown? 5 minutes work , £5, £10?

Would it not be worth moving something to Cyprus? Unfortunately that can't be done, Cyprus can only be turned around at by buses coming from the South. If necessary I think it could still be done - southbound buses could continue ahead on Woolwich Manor Way and then turn right on to Ferndale Street to get to the stand with northbound buses then turning left from East Ham Manor Way on to Woolwich Manor Way.

I don’t see that roundabout being an issue myself, looks wide enough for buses to get around

That would work for any out of service buses that would be standing in the bus station for a considerable period of time like when I saw WHV62 and SE48 parked in bus station stands blinded as not in service around 11am yesterday while taking up valuable space for buses that are actually being used in service or even for buses in service buses that are having a long stand time after arriving in Beckton early.

Noticed this with the South East London changes last week and with these changes is that the timetables haven't been updated. For example at Wanstead Park towards Upton Park the 330 still has its old Canning Town timetable. Didn't check the 104 one at Stratford because I almost missed it but its probably got the same predicament

With regards to Beckton bus station I am guessing a overflow space will be needed much like the Isle Of Dogs Asda? In the meantime can't TfL ask GAL to stop leaving buses parked on the stand that are not being used? it seems to be common practice for SI to leave buses parked up in random places. If they need to park buses could they not use the old Savage Gardens stand if available?
Another suggestion and I know its not idea but perhaps a bus route could be removed from serving the bus station and just serve the stops at Beckton DLR? I appreciate it won't help with stand space bit would create a bit of space at the stops and space for buses to move about. Perhaps the 474? the two stops are only a short walk away.

I think removing the 474 would cause more issues than resolutions as it doesn't terminate there. Stagecoach are just as guilty as Go Ahead for abandoning buses there. The 366 especially often as a not in service Enviro200 left there, and on Sundays when 173s go back to BK for their reliefs you get the odd City left there too.

Noticed the 241 is sharing the 473 stop at Prince Regent. I would have thought the 325 stop would have been better as both buses head in the same direction via Freemasons Road but having said that perhaps they thought both Stratford routes should share a common stop.
I know it’s early days but the 241 is carrying fresh air to Prince Regent and think it’s usage is going to plummet even with the Elizabeth Line opening.
Also got me thinking the stops are not ideal at Custom House with a walk from routes 241,300 and the 325. The 147,304 and 474 stop near the new stand is perfect but nothing can be done because of how routes approach the station from all different directions.

Has anyone observed the east London changes since Saturday? Now I know the Elizabeth Line has not opened yest but have noticed some disappointing loading on the revised 474 section and the 304 Between Custom House and Newham Hospital. The 330 over the weekend was carrying pretty decent loading from Canning Town towards Pontoon Dock.
The 241 is also really lightly used from Prince Regent Station but this was similar to when it used to duplicate the 325 and 541 back in 2014 -2015. Its a little disappointing that the 241,300 and 325 do on occasions run in pairs but this can't always be helped with different route frequency
As I say its very early days but do wonder how things will develop once commuters are using the services.

I'm not local to the area so I'm just going by what I see on a map and current freqs but what if; The 101 and 304 merged to become Wanstead to Custom House. The 104 provides additional capacity between Lonsdale Road and Beckton Station so could an increased 474 (let's say every 8 mins) cope by providing the main Beckton to East Ham/Manor Park link, with the 101 supporting between Manor Park and Lonsdale Road.

I wouldn't judge anything yet. It's the same with any change like when a new route is introduced or a bus extension happens. Big loadings won't happen straight away but overtime, loadings will increase especially when the Elizabeth line opens.

Passengers have had to find alternative routes.
