Guessing that most people have picked up on this already but I've just realised that the fleet number of this bus (EBS1972) reads "Ensignbus 1972", 1972 being the year that the company was founded. This fleet number that has been designated to this bus indicates a very special addition to the Ensignbus fleet.

Is the X80 a good service to travel on?

Is the X80 a good service to travel on? Certainly, yes. Sometimes not very reliable, despite the excellent efforts of award winning Ensign, due to the awful traffic of the M25. I once spent almost 2 hours stuck in traffic on that route. However, most journeys have been trouble free. Great views too, if you travel on a southbound journey over the bridge. Certainly in my Top 10 of interesting routes in the London and surrounding areas. It’s also been very useful in a few long bus trips, such as when I travelled from Romford to Canterbury entirely by bus, or when I went from Barking to Dartford. You can also do a cross-river circuit including the X80, Fastrack to Gravesend, Tilbury Ferry (which accepts concessionary passes), Ensign 99, then Ensign 73 back to Lakeside. That includes the only 2 public transport links across the Thames east of London (although there is also the High Speed line which cross the Thames near the Dartford Crossing).

Find it mad how a bus is sent halfway across the world because the aircon failed Certainly not the first bus Ensign's have purchased from a Hong Kong operator. Big batches of Dennis Dragons and Super Olympians that I can remember.

Interesting the front row of upper deck seats are rear facing. Is this common on HK buses?

Interesting the front row of upper deck seats are rear facing. Is this common on HK buses? These were new to a former Stagecoach subsidiary in Malawi not HK and were re-imported by them for use on Magic bus services in Manchester.

I found these of ex KMB StreetDeck W6S1. It apparently returned to the UK after the aircon failed. Ensign apparently bought it. Anyone know what's going to happen to it? www.orientalmodelbuses.co.uk/Xtra/HK-KMB-Streetdeck.htmApologies for the massive photos, there weren't any other sizes available! More irrelevant but I was sure LJ08CYP was purchased by Warrington's Own Buses as it was listed on BusTimes.

Have no knowledge to dispute what you are saying, but that does not encompass all of the vehicles I am taking about

To put it simply, it’s ours, it needs modifications to be certified, it has the better 6 pot Merc engine from a citaro, it’s going on an adventure tomorrow, give it a few weeks or months and who knows, it could end up blue, however I don’t like rear lower deck emergency exit, I feel like it’s just asking for trouble
