Registrations for the new Wright Streetdecks. They will be registered with 21 marks on 1st March and it is intended to have at least two in service on the first day. 161 - LX21 CHH 162 - LX21 CHJ 163 - LX21 CHK 164 - LX21 CHL 165 - LX21 CHN 166 - LX21 CHO 167 - LX21 CHV 165 and 166 were originally given the registrations SN69 ZWW/ZWT in September 2019 but never left the factory and were shown as SORN. I hope these actually have the correct power for the work they're intended to do unlike other Streetdecks which are under powered especially the 12X ones in Brighton with the steep hills across the Downs it climbs. They are standard 4pots, personally not a fan but hopefully I get to drive one and see if we can get anything out of them, while yes we do Thurrock routes, you can find our buses anywhere from Great Yarmouth to Portsmouth and they do get a hard time

I think they are part of a batch that was for Arriva Yorkshire for Leeds-Wakefield route (not the flattest part of the country). From memory never got delivered or were rejected as poor build quality. Hopefully they have been rectified before Ensign took them Arriva Yorkshire bus that did get delivered on route 444

From Monday 8th March EnsignBus will operate extra "scholar journeys" on routes 22, 25, 44 and 73. Otherwise Saturday timetables will remain in operation on Mondays to Fridays with extra early morning journeys on routes 33, 44, 73 and 88.
On Monday 1st March new 163 (LX21 CHK) operated on the Z2 Tilbury Amazon - Canning Town Station, making it possibly the first 21-registration bus in service in London.

For the 6** routes I'm guessing 970-75 as before? It will be very interesting to know what's being planned for the B11 and B16.

Ensignbus are bringing back the Southend Seafront service 68 for the 2021 season from 29th March, according to their Twitter feed. It looks like they have converted Ayats-bodied Volvo ex-sightseeing buses to full open top for the route.

Of course it has - I'd forgotten these were open-top from new. Even better - saves the expense of converting them!

I'm surprised they are starting the service on the 29th March. Can't see much demand until restrictions are eased a bit and things open up in April. I know stay local starts on the 29th but that's all that changes.

Get the service in and noticed from the off!

They clearly feel there is a demand so who am I to question.

I live in a seaside town and whenever you get a good day the locals are out in force, even in the depths of a lockdown Winter. People can buy chips, icecream, doughnuts and coffee from the kiosks and takeaways, I have seen queues for these in January and February. Imagine how busy it will be when people can come for day trips, after three months being told to stay at home many people will just want to be beside the sea.

Was so busy we had to put an extra bus on it to run every 30 mins, and yesterday and today, seeing as there is nothing open they might as well ride our bus Also of note, Theses are the only B7L twin axle deckers ever built
