Visited Whitechapel earlier today and all I can say is the pictures doesn't do it justice. It really does look amazing. I'd definitely recommend you all to pass by there whenever you're free.

Downside of it is. The East London line (London Overground) can no longer be seen from the District line above. The four platform layout on the District/Hammersmith & City has been changed to two using the outside platforms and the normal inner ones have been made into a large platform like Kings Cross.

Shame the 106 has not gone back to its old stand of Durward St. The way things are going, it probably may never end up happening.

The new westbound platform is on the site of a siding, the original platform was extended out to meet this track.

The centre tracks had been the City terminus of Hammersmith and City line, now the line doesn’t terminate anywhere near the City so it’s name is now a bit of a stupidity

Whitechapel is not in the City of London. The H&C Line still serves the City, the Bakerloo operates beyond Baker Street and Waterloo.

Shame the 106 has not gone back to its old stand of Durward St. The way things are going, it probably may never end up happening. A massive shame indeed as the 106 used to pick up and alight a lot of people on Whitechapel Road. One of the purposes of the 106 is to relieve & assist the 254, but that purpose isn't being fully achieved by the bus standing on Cavell Street.
Most 106 buses southbound after Bethnal Green station have absolutely no souls on it outside the peaks. That would likely change to buses with full seating capacity alighting at Whitechapel Station again (last image I saw of the route before the stand swap), as Darling Row is a poor & inconvenient interchange.

It was always the plan, but with all these cuts I cannot see that happening.

Only benefit to Darling Row it is next to the hospital main entrance.

Just out of interest is the 254 the busier end of the old 253?

The new Southall Station building and footbridge has opened. The new building is to the north of the railway and replaces the cramped old building and footbridges on the road bridge over the railway lines. It is planned to demolish the building but retain the footbridge for emergency purposes. The four numbered platforms* have also been lengthened to accommodate the longer class 345 Elizabeth Lien trains. Southall station retains its bilingual signage for the benefit of the large Punjabi community in the area. It is one of the few railway stations in England to have signage in more than one language. * Southall Station actually has five platforms, although the southernmost fifth platform is unnumbered and only used for special trains. It serves the GWR Brentford branch which is still open for freight but has not had a regular passenger service since 1942.
