Itโs going to be spectacular. The Lizzie Line will be a game changer for South East London. Somerset, Devon and Cornwall will literally be a single change at either Paddington or Reading. Heathrow Airport will be less than an hour away. Canary Wharf only 10 minutes. The stations look fantastic and for all the delays it looks ready to serve London for many decades to come.

You could argue that the Elizabeth Line, for all it's delays will be worth the long wait.

Thameslink has been an excellent addition to Abbey Wood too and the enhancements through the Blackfriars core have been transformational. As a side note, it will soon be possible to reach London City, Luton and Heathrow airports directly from Woolwich, with only one change needed for Gatwick (Farringdon), Southend, and Stansted airports (Liverpool Street). #Hub

I wonder how many people are going to realise that Moorgate and Liverpool are connected to one another. I for one will be happy with this as it means when I'm coming from South London or North London I don't need to get off at Bank and take Central Line from there. I can use Moorgate. Honestly I'm so bloody excited about this trainline opening up. I haven't felt like this since 2010 when the East London Line reopened

It definitely looks very nice, shame it won't improve any journey I make but still nice all the same. I particularly like the next train times being above the platform doors

Whitechapel is gaining signs in the Bengali language, in recognition that one-third of the population of Tower Hamlets is of Bangladeshi origin. This is the second station on the new Elizabeth Line that will have dual-language signing, as signs at Southall Station are in the Punjabi Gurmukhi script as well as English. The signage at Whitechapel is funded by Tower Hamlets Council and is being installed in time for Bangladesh Independence Day which is 26th March. www.ianvisits.co.uk/articles/whitechapel-tube-station-gets-bengali-language-signs-53011/

IT'S OPEN !!!!!!!
In a move that caught everyone by surprise - not least of all staff at the Elizabeth Line stations who suddenly found themselves faced with the prospect of actually dealing with passengers - TfL quietly opened the ticket barriers at all the stations between Paddington and Abbey Wood at 06.00 this morning.
Said Pilar Lofo, the charismatic Spanish Spokesperson of the All-Purpose Rail Information Liaison - Feeds Out Of London service, "We are delighted to find that our trial running of late has gone much better than expected, so much better in fact that we decided we were in a position to open to the travelling public this morning. Londoners will now gain the benefits of this new, efficient line which will be a game-changer for our capital city".
Security Guard Fola Rpoli of Abbey Wood, travelling to work in The City this morning, was surprised and delighted to be amongst the first fare-paying passengers to try out the new service: "I arrived at Abbey Wood Station just after six this morning to find that the Elizabeth Line was open and taking passengers. Man, this will really change my journeys to work. These trains, they are so fast, so smooth. In fact I rode all the way to Paddington and back to Liverpool Street as I didn't want to be too early for work!"
Although the Elizabeth Line opened quietly without fanfare this morning, TfL is planning an official press launch at 12 noon today, at the new Bond Street Elizabeth Line Station. This will be open to the public, and everyone attending will receive a souvenir brochure and a free cupcake. Bring your own hard hat.

Diamond Geezer is getting in on the act and has leaked proposals for a "Night Crossrail" - maybe this will be announced at the 12 noon press launch? diamondgeezer.blogspot.com/2022/04/night-crossrail.html
