They should’ve built a London City Airport Station as well Initially Silvertown was the designated station for London City Airport. Dedicated bus links from Liverpool Street and Canning Town were later provided until the DLR was opened in 2005 with a station adjacent to the Airport terminal. Silvertown was never a proper station to the Airport and was mainly only used by locals. You could not just come out of the airport terminal and go to Silvertown station, there was not even any signage.

Thanks for the info From what I read there's only 3 left The units are paired though, so that's six units in three 8-car sets. IIRC a few 345 units still need to be converted form 7-car to 9-car before through services commence in the Autumn. I do not recall any 7 car 345's. I have not been on one in months; unless they are still on the western part of TfL Rail.

There are 3 sets still at 7car, due to one platform at Paddington (main), not being able to take 9car trains. I think 2 sets are used on peak hour shuttles (to Hayes & Harlington?), with third set as a maintenance spare. Won’t be any 7car in East anymore as they are not permitted to work through the tunnel as 7car have earlier version of signalling

Had a chance for a proper trip from Custom House to Paddington and back today. The line is still really busy with lots of passengers taking selfies. The speed of 20 mins to Paddington is honestly amazing!
I noticed last week trains seem to pause longer at Canary Wharf longer than other stations - The same happened today, is there any reason for this?

I don't believe they pause longer at Canary Wharf, I've not noticed that. Although I have noticed it happen at Whitechapel and Liverpool Street so I wonder if its just something they do to help stick to timetable if the train in front is spending too long on the platform.

I noticed that yesterday- might be they're expecting Canary Wharf to be busy so have built the pause into the schedule. May also be built-in to help with Junction management when the trains coming from Stratford start crossing in front in the future

I was looking at journey times for me from my area to Abbey Wood in order to garner whats the quickest way out to South East London and interestingly it seems almost identical between taking 3 trains from Tulse Hill to Abbey Wood (change at Peckham Rye and then Lewisham) or take Thameslink from Herne Hill to Farringdon and then Elizabeth to Abbey Wood - both roughly come out to 50 minutes give or take though the journey via Thameslink should be a bit quicker. However, Thameslink isn't reliable and if I miss one is a 30 minute wait so I'd still probably plump for the Underground to Tottenham Court Road and then Elizabeth to Abbey Wood which takes roughly an hour but I've got turn up and go frequencies throughout the route and the interchange at Tottenham Court Road is pretty quick

So it was my turn on the Elizabeth Line today, riding it from Paddington to Abbey Wood. Plenty of passengers on the train I was on. As it was half term, there were plenty of parents taking their kids for a ride, mixed with plenty of genuine users. At Abbey Wood, there were more people from my train taking the return train on the opposite platform back to Paddington than people getting out of the station. I certainly was impressed with the speed and smoothness of the journey, it certainly didn’t feel like we were travelling fast in the tunnel section. At Abbey Wood, I decided to sample the bus routes around the borough of Bexley, including the whole route of 180 which had changes at both ends. The Erith extension seems to be a success as there were plenty of users, with many asking the driver does the bus go to Abbey Wood station on the new section so could envision plenty of these passengers connecting to the Elizabeth Line in the future.

Finally got the Lizzie line yesterday from Whitechapel to Tottenham Court Road.
It was fast! And the train was packed out, this line really is the game changing line, people said it was rammed when it was from Abbey Wood and Woolwich, decided to get the Jubilee back to North Greenwich and get the bus to Blackheath.
All the buses bound for Eltham, Blackheath and Bexleyheath were still busy but the Woolwich bound buses particularly the 472 was less busy than it used to be.
Some guy made a funny comment regarding the Elizabeth line stations compared to the Jubilee line extension stations about how horrifically early 2000s and dated those stations looked compared to the Lizzie Line stations.

Well the Jubilee line extension was built in the late 90's so if they look 200's it is not that bad. I personally think the Crossrail stations seem the same as the Jubilee line extension just that the crossrail has more lighting. Also none of them have tiles that was the custom of the Underground system years ago.

The fact that some of the stations on the Victoria which still have a 1960’s feel are far more pleasing and bright says it all and the same is true with the Elizabeth line stations

They still look quite modern and futuristic, while not the brightest they have a very good amount of light and you can't see any dirt at all because it's all tiling that is easily washable, certainly far nicer than all the other non-Elizabeth Line stations underground. The amount of space they have is amazing and especially crowded stations like Canary Wharf, North Greenwich, Canada Water, London Bridge and Waterloo are far more pleasant than other standard platforms. The Elizabeth Line is nice, however the issue is that the lack of tiling and just being bare concrete will probably mean they eventually darken as time goes on and not be very nice to walk through and look at.

I imagine the Elizabeth Line will be very handy for those trying to avoid the tube strike on Monday! This will be a game changer for passengers and means the strike have even less impact.

I knew this strike wouldn't have as much impact as it once would have had with companies ready to WFH if needed and the Elizabeth Line being open. Think the Unions may need to start looking for different tactics.

Used the Elizabeth Line again today from Custom House to Tottenham Court Road. Despite being my third time using the line the journey times still really impressive me! Just can’t get my head around getting places like this in 15 minutes. The line is now less busy to and from Abbey Wood but really gets busy from Whitechapel heading west.
I head back home via Holborn, the station was like a ghost town compared to before the Elizabeth Line opened. The Central Line is still pretty busy but nothing compared to before. I then used the DLR and this was really really quiet! I think this has taken a big hit with passengers switching to the new Elizabeth Line.
