It's a shame they couldn't work up to Southend and even up to Southminster on the farewell but also sad to see them finally go for good .

😂😂😂 now now imagine if it does run smoothly and the issues are not constant. Well if it does I would take my hat off, but over the past few weeks it still has problems, so it does not give me any confidence. *sighs* very well hopefully they'll change your mind soon 🙂

Yeah especially when you could literally do the same journey on one (as I did) recently for a lot less than the tour. At least with the 455 tour (which I sadly missed), they worked along some other routes as well as it's usual haunts so the higher price made sense

My earliest memory of them was from 1988 - 1989 when I lived in Manor Park. I remember the bright yellow interior and Network Southeast livery.

Yes, used to do some workings to Southend Victoria in 1980s and early 1990s, probably was a mix with the Shenfield workings, but being restricted to 75mph would struggle to keep time nowadays (there were plenty of units that could just about do 90mph in those days, nowadays others can comfortably do 100mph) I might be wrong, but I am sure there were some newspaper or parcels trains formed of 315s in 1980s, and I think they got to Colchester on these

I think up until the mid-2000s there was some peak workings to Southend Victoria. I certainly remember seeing them pass through Wickford in the evenings

I certainly remember seeing them pass through Wickford in the evenings Up until 2015 when Tfl rail took over the "metro" services , the first train from Southend to London and vice versa were 315 operated and stopped at all stations and there was also a semi fast journey (Stratford , Ilford , Chadwell heath then all stations) from Liverpool St to Southend in the Evening peak 🤓 I've tried to find a old timetable site to provide a link but can't remember the name of one that was up before anyone know any ?
