Pretty much every Liz line through service I've used to/from Ealing has had a painfully long wait at the tunnel portal and in a few cases on an eastbound train its arrived so early that you end up crawling to Westbourne Park and then still have a five minute wait there. Its a shame it makes using the line less attractive for me, I hope these teething problems are ironed out soon. This could be part of the current timetable when they introduced through running, that there will be pauses on the approach to Paddington. Hopefully these pauses should disappear in the May timetable change.

The waits are going in May, the current timetable is a temporary bodge, didn't want to change the times in west, or those on Shenfield line as November wasn't a rail timetable change date. And as the trains from West aren't going to Shenfield currently, they have to await the time an Abbey Wood train was scheduled. Waiting time varies, most are few minutes, but is upto 7 minutes in current timetable.

Indeed, the pauses at Paddington are nothing to do with GWR at all but to do with the Elizabeth Line arrangement at Paddington with the sidings

I am glad they have realised the GWR mainline is a cause for concern as i have often mentioned here why the western end service is terrible. The timetabled pauses at the tunnel portal are a temporary measure and will be eliminated when the full timetable is introduced in May. EDIT: I see several others have beaten me to it!

Don't know what's happened this evening but a lot of delays tonight and trains missing stops just seen a train leave Stratford calling at Shenfield only going to be a lot of people getting a shock , Platform 8 is looking dangerously packed out with all the people waiting .

Absolute shambles. I was on platform 8 waiting for the 17:11 to Romford. Lots of announcements saying that it will be non stop to Romford and Gidea Park. Ends up being a stopping service all the way to Ilford. No crowd control whatsoever.

An earlier faulty train at Paddington The District, Circle and H&C have been suspended just to add to the chaos!

You have a lot of signal between Stratford and Shenfield, what more can you ask for That bit is above ground, also the bit I don't use. I was talking about Abbey Wood to Paddington, and for some reason it feels like the tunnel section drags on forever There are small above ground sections between Abbey Wood and Custom House then it's only 15 minutes to Paddington! I would say there are much longer tunnel sections on the Underground that are far worse. The Jubilee Line from Canning Town and Central Line from Stratford both heading west are much worse.

The jubilee line has 4G as far as Westminster I believe The northern line is the worst in terms of tunnel length but I don't use the northern line so I don't find that problematic

Just had a look on Open train times and there are still quite a lot of delayed trains . One oversight I guess is there is no turnaround sidings heading west until Paddington , could of maybe put one somewhere for times of disruption as of today ? Another thing I'm guessing is Shenfield Drivers can only drive to Shenfield and not Abbey Wood so diverting trains there too is out of the window .

Just heard announcer at Craven Cottage telling fans to go to Hammersmith as no district line running eastbound. Going to be a very busy night for the 220!

The Northern Line also holds two records for the deepest tube station. It is well known that Hampstead has the deepest station with platforms 192 feet below street level. However the deepest point below sea level is also on the Northern Line, which reaches a depth of 70 feet near Waterloo.
