I saw a bus blinded 205 to Bow Church going south along Southampton Road, near Gospel Oak at 23:10 last night - with passengers on board. Think it may have been 12329 but not certain.
If that was in service that's quite some diversion! Any ideas?

The 30, 73, 205 and 390 are diverted from Warren Street to Euston via Hampstead Road, Mornington Crescent and Eversholt Street. To be honest I dont know how far the diversion is, but the furthest it should be is as far as Camden Town and then follow the 274 to Islington. 214 from Mornington Crescent.

The Lee Green turn used by the 178, 202 and 261 can no longer be used as roads have been closed off as part of a controversial scheme in Lewisham to force all through traffic onto roads that will be covered under the new ULEZ next year.

That could explain why I saw a 261 at Moorhead Way in Kidbrooke a few months ago. How long has those roads been closed?

The 245, 266 and some other routes have diversion signs all over Brent Cross due to a burst watermain! The traffic out of Brent Cross is absolutely horrible!! 15 minutes to serve the second stop on the 189 to Marble Arch.

I seem to recall a notice in the garage a while ago detailing the new Lee Green turn, taking in most of Kidbrooke! I wonder if that turn will be used less now - doesn’t seem like much will be gained from it EDIT Just checked. A new route record was issued in June last year showing the new curtailment to be Eltham Road, Kidbrooke Park Road, Weigall Road, Eltham Road. I guess one benefit is that the last stop on LOR is now the actual Lee Green stop rather than miles up the road! FURTHER EDIT Interestingly, the Bromley South turn for the 261 indicates Simpsons Road is to be used

FURTHER EDIT Interestingly, the Bromley South turn for the 261 indicates Simpsons Road is to be used So in effect the Lee Green turn does a trip around the block. In the time that you have gone round the bus can reach Lewisham. To avoid traffic lights its probably faster to use Eltham Road, Weigall Road, Moorhead Way to circumnavigate the one way system then Weigall Road, however the right turn out of Weigall Road isn’t that easy because of oncoming traffic. Your description above I would do it in reverse left into Weigall Road then right into Kidbrooke Park Road, right into Eltham Road. Safer due to the traffic lights. I can see the 202 using Blackheath Village more than Lee Green because of that the amount of traffic the 202 encounters there is really no point using Lee Green now. Well the 178 there is really no point because in effect there is nowhere for it to turn around now unless buses use the back streets where the 273 runs and I wouldn’t recommend as the left turn from Eltham Road into Burnt Ash Road involves hogging two lanes because of the pavement and the bell on the corner. Whenever the 160 has been diverted away from Westhorne Avenue due to road works Eltham Road and Burnt Ash Road is used instead. Funny enough I’ve never seen a 178 turned at Lee Green. Only the 202 & 261. The 178 cannot even use the official Kidbrooke turn at the moment as Kidbrooke Station is closed, however can use Ryan Close

Just seen a 20 (2543) heading down Broadmead Road with Walthamstow blinds, and two passengers. Doesn’t look like any part of High Road is blocked between Woodford Green and Waterwork’s Corner ??

Manor Lane in Lee I noticed is closed now as well. The 160 & 284 are going to get a lot worse because Verdant Lane is where all the main traffic joins the A205.

212 and W16 diverted in the direction of highams park to the A406 flyover (perhaps even Forest Road...?) because of road works outside Highams Park level crossing. This is my first time seeing in service TfL buses crossing the level crossing itself in many many years.....
