So gutted I have loved the build up to this. I think we might have got carried away with its coming home.

Gutted but we've seriously over achieved and Gareth Southgate and the boys can hold their heads high.
Really should have killed the game off in the first half when we were on top.
Just a rather meaningless third place play off with Belgium to look forward to now.

England played very well ... but we paid dearly for the missed chances. The first half should have been done and dusted for the match; a 1-0 lead is very unreliable.
Anyway... hopefully this bodes well for the future ....No point in watching the match on Saturday.

Exactly, we could have been two or three goals up at half time and it would have been a totally different game. France will be kicking themselves now if they don't win it.

Driver has now amended the blind to read "We're Coming Home" England played well, there was too much cheeky fouling by Croatia though England sat on the Trippier goal instead of reaching for their second. It will be interesting to see what happens with France, if the French play like true sportsmanship like we did, I think they could lose on Sunday still, I guess there's the Runners Up game with Belgium if they haven't got on the bus home already. Referee was awful, England were down to 10 men at one point and not allowed a substitution which was incredible. The second Croatian goal was controversial as the striker's boot was too close to the defender's head and it could have been nasty Still, we got further than Germany, Brazil and Portugal who I think were the real teams in the tournament. Like when Metroline lost the 207, it's gonna take time to sink in Let's see how our neighbours fare on Sunday

The problem is though whilst England has got further than anyone thought, it’s still only down to having the easiest draw I’ve ever seen in a World Cup which actually leaves us asking is that England team any good and the fact is no can answer it. Before anyone mentions Portugal and their run during Euro 2016, we found out exactly how great they were in this World Cup which was, bar the Spain game, not particularly good. For me, they were never properly tested and the jury on how good they are is well & truely still out. Anyway, well played Croatia and good luck in the final.

Portugal weren't tested in 2016 but they won it fairly and squarely just as England got to the semi-finals fairly and squarely and without resorting to some of the disgraceful cheating that we've seen in this tournament. By the same logic Croatia haven't been properly tested apart from maybe against a poor Argentina, but if they win it Sunday they'll have done so on merit.

Which is exactly what i was saying about Portugal - they weren't tested at the Euros and got found out at the World Cup and the same will probably happen to England because no one has any clue as to how good this England team is. Yes Croatia haven't been tested but to compare Croatia with England is illogical as England have a better squad whereas Croatia have the better starting midfield.

I just don't get all this negativity about the England squad, if they were abysmal like two years ago then fair enough but there has even been praise from Scotland about what great ambassador's they've been for the UK both on and off the pitch, who they've played is irrelevant.

Honestly I'm a bit disappointed by the reaction of some "fans". They are acting like we got knocked out in the groups and don't appreciate the fact we got this far to begin with. Southgate and the team did an excellent job and although I'm not English by blood, I'm still very proud of them.

Ahhh it’s like 1990 and 1996 all over again. However on this occasion England did extremely well to get to the semi finals - and at least we didn’t go out on penalties 😂
You have to remember that before the tournament we were just hoping to qualify from the group. The big step forward for me is that England were good to watch and finally seem to have evolved in their style of play. England still had to beat Sweden and Colombia to get to the semis - two teams who are on par with our ability. This team were tested and fell short to a better team. Yes the referee and in particular the far side linesman were poor, but they were equally poor for both teams. No excuses there.
With Southgate at the helm England have a manager with recent tournament experience as a player plus he has worked with many of this group of players at England U21 level. Last year England won the U17 and U20 World Cups. If those players can break through over the next few years and add to the tournament experience of the current team, this is a good foundation to build on. Well done lads 🏴

Well done lads 🏴 Goals change games and I think that Harry Kane chance in the first half was the turning point but it's water under the bridge now. I think poor refereeing has been the only downside of what has generally been a great world cup and a lot of credit goes to the Russian hosts.

I never said anything about abysmal - all I said is no one can clearly say whether that team is any good or not regardless of how far they got.

That's all irrelevant, depending upon what happens on Saturday England will have proven themselves to be the third or fourth best in the world.
