Hopefully with improved pay rates they might be able to recruit better now £10 an hour was very low. RMT have obviously rejected this offer. TBF probably need a bit more in Plymouth to compete with £12.25 Citybus pay. Course I suspect fare increases on horizon which will mean they may loose edge on fares as generally cheaper than citybus Go Ahead

Devon County Council has put forward its £34million "Bus Back Better" bid. A key feature is improved links to railway stations, following the lead set by the funded improvements to the 164 service between Totnes, Kingsbridge and Salcombe. Improved links to Tiverton Parkway in particular feature prominently, as well as links to the new Okehampton line which is due to commence operations in December. Strategic links also feature, particularly for Barnstaple which would gain direct services to Tiverton Parkway, Tavistock (for Plymouth) and Taunton, a through service Bude and an hourly frequency on the 155 to Exeter. The East of Exeter growth point would have inproved Exeter City services including early and late journeys, and new direct links from Tiverton, Cullompton and Exmouth. Infrastructure isn't being forgotten either, with money in the bid earmarked for bus priorities in main urban areas and improving bus stops and other infrastructure in the rest of the county. The network will become a more coherent whole, with multi-operator ticketing and increased prominence of the "Devon Bus" branding. Although there is collaboration with Plymouth and Torbay Councils on cross-border services and ticketing, these areas are Unitary Authorities so will be submitting their own BBB bids. Likewise there is cross-border collaboration with Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset. There's a lot to take in regarding the individual proposals (which will also be subject to public consultation), so I will just link to the lengthy report from the Plymothian Transit blog. www.plymothiantransit.com/2021/10/devon-bus-back-better-bid.html

Stagecoach has introduced temporary reduced timetables from today (Monday 11th October) due to the ongoing staff shortage, on Plymouth routes 2/2A (Saltash-Mount Batten/Sherford) and Exeter route 57 (Exeter-Exmouth).
The Monday-Saturday daytime frequency on the 2/2A goes down from every 20 minutes on each route to every 30 minutes; and the Monday-Saturday daytime frequency on the 57 goes down from every 15 to every 30 minutes.

How come Plymouth depot is unscathed by this action? Did they vote to accept the offer?

How come Plymouth depot is unscathed by this action? Did they vote to accept the offer? Did not Plymouth buy the operations and the staff TUPEed over? If so, will be on different contracts.

[ That is a fair point some ex First staff I am sure will be on better contract and pay than Stagecoach but I am sure the new staff employed by Stagecoach since they took over in 2015 would not come under this arrangement

Yes, staff at Plymouth have accepted their pay offer so their services will be operating normally (with any cancellations down to staff shortage not strike action). I presume the ones that were not happy have already left!

Traveline SW shows that Dartline-operated route 118 (Tavistock-Okehampton) will have a new Monday-Saturday timetable from Monday 20th November, with more journeys. Around half the service will be rerouted within Okehampton to the Railway Station to connect with the new Dartmoor Line train service to and from Exeter, with the other journeys serving Okehampton Hospital as now. A Sunday service of three return journeys, all serving Okehampton Station, will be introduced from Sunday 12th December. Route 118 is operated under contract to Devon County Council and presumably the changes are at their bequest. Link to new timetable at www.traveldevon.info/bus/latest-news-service-updates/

<snip> Park Avenue in Devonport is currently not being served after 7pm after a number of buses have had their windows broken. Buses divert via Albert Road, Devonport Road and Fore Street in both directions. This was short-lived - it came into effect on Friday 15th October but buses returned to normal working from Monday 18th.
