Not allocated, there are E200s and Optare Versas but no ALX400s allocated. Please be specific as there are many types of Dennis Tridents in London (55-60 plate Enviros, any ALX400, ADL Optare Olympus, etc.) Well BK only have the ALX400 type so doesn't take a genius to work out which type he was referring to. Those E200s are allocated to the 366, while one of the 396s Versas combusted which has since been replaced with a Trident. LVF has one Trident that has been used, and a rare E400 MMC

Also as mentioned by 15002 the MMCs on the 396 aren't rare but instead happen quite frequently

London Versas don’t have Cummins engines - they all have Mercedes-Benz engines. Cummins & MAN ones are only found outside London.

The 396 is a weird one as there isn't enough single deckers for a fully single deck allocation so I presume a few Tridents are also allocated? Not allocated, there are E200s and Optare Versas but no ALX400s allocated. Please be specific as there are many types of Dennis Tridents in London (55-60 plate Enviros, any ALX400, ADL Optare Olympus, etc.) The 396 has a PVR of 5 (Saturday PVR is 6 but not relevant as Saturday sees slightly lower PVR’s releasing spare vehicles) and a TVR of 6 but only 4 Versas remain. The Enviro 200’s as pointed out by others are allocated to the 396 - the only other buses available are Tridents and it’s no coincidence that the 396 constantly sees deckers, many of which are Tridents.

What routes have been earmarked for 'decking' or see deckers occasionally..? Bus route 316 (Cricklewood Bus Garage to White City Bus Station) has deckers during Notting Hill Carnival weekend. The rest of the year we have to endure Enviro 200, which easily become overcrowded, which leads to extended dwell times at bus stops while people squeeze their way to the door to get off. I honestly think that TfL would save money by putting deckers on the route, because running times would be reduced.

Sure, but as discussed elsewhere, the locals object as people on the top deck can see into their homes (perhaps they should try curtains, but I digress). Now and again I see the odd DD in the morning peak, but it only goes as far as North Kensington for this reason.

TfL can’t deck the 316 because of ‘nimby’ locals near the White City end, despite the 295 running through there which is a double deck route. Yes I know, ridiculous, but there you go. Upon last retender it was going to go DD, there were plans but they fell through. However the 316’s patronage has fallen significantly over the past couple of years, so still really busy but not as it has been. Wonder if it’s to do with the constant rammed buses and leaving people behind wearing down people’s patience.

The 375 sees deckers often.

There were supposedly plans for the 316 in relation to the changes to the 32 which were mentioned at one point.

The 251 could do with some double deckers, it's always packed, especially in the peaks from Burnt Oak all the way through to Whetstone.
TfL have toyed with the idea a couple of times previously, unfortunately with any plans being hindered due to an annoying few trees along Lawrence Street which the council don't seem eager to mess with.
