To provide a link from the station to the surrounding areas, in this case Cricklewood to places like Golders Green. Someone might need to use this link if they're coming home from somewhere like Farringdon or Blackfriars where there is no bus link That's like saying let's axe the N222 because the GWR calls at West Drayton at night. But it is needed to provide links to Uxbridge and Hounslow which would be more convenient for some as opposed to using the N9 or N207 and then changing buses You can’t go creating links on the off chance someone might need a bus occasionally. There has to be a consistent demand for a service to be justified. There's no harm in trying the link in the first place and if it doesn't attract enough passengers then tfl can withdraw the route. You never know what potential there could be until you try it

What a weird justification, what's Thameslink got to do with more night buses needing to operate? Surely if anything that means they might be able to get away with less buses. There's very little going on in either places at night to justify a night service. The N5/N83 from Hendon is more than adequate for those changing from the N32 and Thameslink serves Hendon.
I love how this conversation about a night link between Golders Green and Cricklewood has lasted about a month now. Can we please give it a rest?

Didcot Parkway services are now generally first stop Slough, but the overnight journeys stop at Ealing Broadway, Southall, Hayes & Harlington and West Drayton with a couple also stopping at Langley and Iver. www.gwr.com/travel-information/train-times (scroll down to T10)

It goes to Reading calling at Ealing Broadway, Southall, Hayes and Harlington, West Drayton, Slough, Maidenhead, Twyford and Reading

i would imagine travelling from central London via Hendon to get to Golders Green would be a bit longer than changing at Cricklewood. I find it funny how Cricklewood station has a link to Brent Cross at night but not Golders Green, it's a bit like robbing Peter to pay Paul (robbing Golders Green of a night route to Cricklewood but giving one to Brent Cross instead). Not to mention Cricklewood Broadway also has the N266 to Brent Cross. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure Brent Cross shopping centre is closed at night.

I know a few pages back someone mentioned that the 260 shouldn't run at night because it parallels the 266 well maybe the 460 would be a better option as it parallels the 266 far less than the 260 does. It would also allow onward connections from Hammersmith, Acton and Harlesden towards Golders Green and North Finchley

How well used is the N266? Would it perhaps be worth considering withdrawing it but replacing with a 24-hour service on the 260 instead? Golders Green would certainly be more useful than Brent Cross at night. Going via Park Royal may also be more useful than the 266 via Willesden Junction. If necessary could maybe then extend the N97 to Acton or North Acton?

Going to/from Hendon would be fine if travelling north towards Luton Airport, which is probably the main reason for this rail route having an overnight service. For Central London, there's also the option to take the 139(N) to West Hampstead Thameslink.

I think 1 should be a 24 hour route, whilst N1 is renumbered as N5 to avoid confusion. Lastly renumbering the current N5 as N240 since it passes some of the 240 hotspots.

If the N1 was to be renumbered, N180 would be a better fit from a local perspective, the N5 doesn’t really follow much of the 240

Better to have the N1 as N188 instead (I know they have different routings in Bermondsey but still) with the 1 becoming 24 hours and the 188 now daily
