Sadiq Khan has suggested services to could be scaled back even more from a Sunday service level. He is joining the government Cobra meeting today. I assume this could start having a affect on staff pay as less drivers will be needed? It depends however we have contracts with our set hours so we shouldnt lose pay

Will this have an impact on the tenders Who gives a flying f**k if it does, I work in public transport, me and my colleagues are working bloody hard in the hardest circumstances any current working person has ever seen, we face the constant anxiety of enormous uncertainty and potentially going home and tellling our loved ones we no longer have a livelihood, and yet your biggest concern is whether a bus has a different operator's logo on it? Get a grip and grow up, you are a disgrace. Delete your account. Apoligies for the rant but this stuff really winds me up.

That’s a bit harsh telling someone to delete their account and calling them a disgrace, I’m sure they didn’t mean any harm. While I don’t agree with their comment, there really was no need to call them a disgrace and telling them to delete their account.

I agree with you and it's hardly unreasonable to be asking about tender results even though there are more important things in life at the moment. Far too many petty arguments on here quite honestly and I think moderators need to start deleting a few posts to nip things in the bud.

Will this have an impact on the tenders This ongoing situation is beyond the control of both TfL and the bus operator's ability to provide a full service. On top of that TfL is likely to be working with them with emergency service reduction schedules for the duration. Therefore upon retender the companies cannot be penalised for that period when they were essentially instructed by TfL to scale down in the first place. In essence this situation is no different to when Extension Rebellion were causing long term disruption which triggered multiple curtailments of services from Central London... and I if I remember correctly a total suspension of the 507 was then in place... again by instructions of TfL.

It's interesting that with the general decline in transport usage that certain corridors take the hit more than others.
Take Ealing for example, routes like the 207 heading East and the E2 are still usually busy as their morning peak demand is predominantly school children. Whereas the E1, which is notoriously one of the most crowded services heading into Ealing, is very very quiet as most of its white collar worker users are at home
Same with the Piccadilly line - 7 minute gap at Northfields this morning and there were seats available and only around 20 waiting on the platform by the end: usually there'd be well over 100 waiting and around 10 would get on with that service. The tube is now my quietest way of commuting and I never thought I'd experience it.

Indeed but even then, I think your reply was over the top in some respects especially telling them to delete their account - that’s not a great image any of us want to portray for someone who made an error. I’m assuming they’re young and as youngsters, we all make silly errors of judgment - I know I sure did. I’m sure WSD3 will learn in future.

The thing is I disagree with what WSD3 said and agree with what you’re saying, but it could of been worded way less harshly than how you phrased it personally. Genuinely don’t think WSD3 meant any harm by what he said.

I assume this could start having a affect on staff pay as less drivers will be needed? It depends however we have contracts with our set hours so we shouldnt lose pay There is also the issue that if drivers follow Government and Public Health Authority advice on self-isolation, and absent themselves from work when not actually sick*, that they continue to be paid. * currrent advice is that if any family member has symptoms indicating possible coronavirus, the entire household should self-isolate for seven days.
