I've not been traumatised by the media, I've been traumatised by what I've seen myself in hospital. Then you should quit your job and find another one. You will be less traumatised that way. If everyone did that, the NHS would crumble. How dare you say that!

If we have more lockdowns the NHS will crumble anyway, more lockdowns will only damage and I don’t want an American billionaire owning it thanks.

He has never. It's not dismissal, just prioritising Omicron If you look a few pages back he literally said that people with depression should just get a grip, which is utterly uneducated and the wrong thing to say to someone with depression, so yes he did dismiss mental health issues. 0 okay

Hopefully staff will be along soon to deal with the thread, sad it ended up like this, I remember starting the thread in March 2020 with the best intentions. @buses1350 I really do think you maybe need to take some time out, you are getting so angry and it’s creating a awful toxic atmosphere.

Really disappointed to see this thread end up like this then a brand new one made, it’s almost like it was disrupted with malicious intent.

Things that are posted on the internet are there for ever. Even things you delete may have been captured by Wayback Machine or other similar things, or other people may capture what you write by screenshot, and use it against you later.
Think about that before you post stuff you may come to regret days, weeks, months down the line.

Probably sensible to delete, before the Moderators delete whole batch of irrelevant personal sniping Follow the forum rules, rather than cause moderators lots of work They should just delete this whole bloody thread, it’s so toxic. toxic huh, no pun intended there...sorry I couldn't resist that one. (I'll get my coat)

I think he had a breakdown because of what happened to him in his personal life with him saying he dropped out of uni etc and it very clearly affected his viewpoints both on COVID & restrictions. I think we should leave him time to hopefully recover & leave him be. I don't endorse what he said at all or his actions or some of his opinions but seriously, this thread needs a clearup or even deleted.
I am sorry once again if I riled any of this up, this was definitely not my intention and I hope that we can all make amends and move forwards.

It's rather disappointing to see CMO Chris Whitty coming in for abuse on this thread. Whilst politicians are to some extent 'fair game' I think healthcare professionals with no political allegiances can be kept out of it.

Went for my booster today at Westfield - Was really busy but well managed with two lines one for walk ups and one for appointments which luckily I had already booked before Sundays announcement. Ended up taking about a hour which I think is pretty good! surprised I still had to wait 15 mins afterwards as I thought this has been suspended to speed up how many boosters can be done.
Think the effects are kicking in slowly but are very mild so far.

Whatever people's views on vaccines/boosters are (do not want this to turn into another scrap) the queues that I'm hearing at these vaccination centres are good news in a way- they show an enthusiasm for getting the vaccine and getting boosted. Can't fault people making an effort to protect themselves and others.

Give some thought as to what next will look like. Probably well over 1m isolating and several thousand more falling ill. I really can’t see how much will be actually functioning next week and next month.
I don’t deny how serious covid is for some people. But the fact is, for the absolute vast majority, it is an illness that goes after around 10 days.
Do we shut down normal society functions and risk absolute chaos, or do we stop all the testing and stop isolation. I think Omicron will force us to change our methods. This is spreading extremely rapidly. The choice I think is we now live with it, or create even more chaos by locking ourselves down . If we do the latter, I actually don’t think there will be any shops open next week.
