I have lost track of the E400s at WH. Lots moved in as cover for the Smarts moving to HK but now we are starting to see another batch come over from various garage.
Is the plan to withdrawn certain buses? I know a few came over to replace the Scania and to cover for another two Smarts that are now at HK.

Yes, the W13’s decker is the sole 65-reg E400 City Are you sure this is correct? The tender in 2016 was awarded as below for the double decker: —— The one double deck vehicle used on schooldays will be a 2010 built Euro V diesel currently allocated to route 388. —— This suggests to be me the 65 reg was ordered for the 388? Also Andy C confirmed the route is allocated a diesel bus on paper. Hmmm. I wonder if it was meant to be one of the Scania's from 212. It obviously was EO1 the sole E400/Olympus

Managed to ride on 19838 on the 277 and the moment it turned out of Crossharbour, there's another E400 coming back on the 277 - must say it's a sight not seen for a while!

Since the 277s sometimes mix around with some of the 242's temp allocation and uses the Smarts Hybrids with the LEDs, do they now show 'Dalston, Forest Road' or do they still say 'Dalston Junction' ?

They don’t mix! The Smart hybrids that moved from WH to HK had new blinds fitted that contained the 277 in addition to HK routes. The 277 is currently still at WH and uses its allocated buses and Smarts / E400s. These buses have 2020 and 2022 blind sets.

I can’t see why it was suddenly upgraded to needing a hybrid mid tender and now gone back to a diesel bus (on paper). The 65 reg arrived around the time the 388 PVR increased for the Elephant & Castle extension, is that a coincidence….. Anyway no point wasting energy on this as the route starts a new tender this year.

I always got the impression that the Citys at CT Plus (HK) were treated as a common pool, and the W13 double-decker became a hybrid purely for standardisation after the 388 converted. CT Plus did also have an ex-demonstrator MMC knocking around for a while (I think it was numbered 2400?)

I remember the bus well. Arriva had it for a few months as a demonstrator, before the original 78 batch was delivered. It was never used in service. It was HA0, SN65 OHP

There are currently 9 out with the 66 regs MMCs on other routes! The last time something like this happened was when the Smarts had new blinds fitted. I wonder is something is going on or just the way allocations have worked out today.

They're due for a different contract (presumably the 238?) once the electrics come onto the 277 anyway so makes sense to have the refurb done.

The buses from the 277 are due to move to the 238 and as a top up on the 97. As far as I can see the MMCs are still around but most are in other routes and a few on the 277. If the allocations stay like this for a few days then I will post what I suspect could be happening but will wait as I could be totally wrong. It could all just be a one off allocation blip.
